Filing Complaint against the store to DSHS EXPIRED ATA SOLD — (COMMUNITY MUST READ) MUST READ Rude Sales Staff**
Date of Experience: 02/15/2025
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with sabzi Mandi. I purchased a bag of flour (atta) from this store, only to find that it was expired and infested with insects when I opened it. The expiration date on the bag confirmed that it was indeed past its sell-by date.
When my wife called the store to address this issue, the lady on the phone was incredibly rude and hung up on her. When I called to explain the situation, she insisted that we need to bring the atta back, despite the fact that we live 20 miles away and it's not feasible for us to return it. I also mentioned that I don't have the time for that, and she became rude again and hung up.
After two days, I called again, hoping for a resolution, only to be hung up on once more. This lack of professionalism and customer service is unacceptable.
Here’s what I expect: Accept your mistake and ensure that expired items are removed from your inventory. Either refund my money or compensate me for my time and travel expenses if you require me to bring the atta back.
If this matter is not resolved, I will file a complaint with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and seek legal help. I will update my review once this issue is resolved, either positively or negatively, depending on the outcome.
Additionally, the store staff needs training on proper customer service and should not hang up on customers. They should also provide their names when asked.
When I called two days ago, I was told the manager would call me back, but no one has contacted me, which is why I called again today.
I am attaching a picture and a video of the flour for reference.
Hope this review helps the community avoid...
Read moreSkip this store and go to India Bazaar in Richardson that's down the street. I was just on the phone with 2 employees who hung up on me twice because they were not willing to hear my complaint. They wouldn't give me the manager's name or have him call me back. In addition, tell me when he will be in so I can talk to him. They would not tell me when I can talk to a manager. This is poor customer service.
I called to get mango prices and they said it's their store policy not to give prices over the phone. I told them do they not know how ridiculous the sounds? What if you called Macy's, Target or Walmart and they said the same thing to their customers!!!!
When I called India Bazaar In Richardson they gladly shared their price. I have noticed Gopal (one of the brothers that owns India Bazaar) has done a great job training their employees. India Bazaar even has a Customer Service/Complaint Department. The only reason I use to shop at Subzimandi is because I come to buy meat next door to them. Because of this ill experience I will never shop there again. They have lost my business for life. I rather go to India Bazaar down the street. I guess that's why India Bazaar keeps being blessed and growing with multiple locations because customer satisfaction is their priority. It's obvious Subzimandi doesn't. Cause a well trained employee will know how to handle an unhappy customer and make sure a customer is kept. It's evident they don't have a customer complaint process and procedure.
If the owners don't care then employees don't care and Subzimandi will continue to lose in business. I wouldn't be surprised to see their doors close in a few years if they continue to treat their customers badly which is who keeps them in business. God wants us to treat others as you would want to be treated. If you don't then you will...
Read moreGreat selection and product mix. I love the fact that they aren't prejudice with their inventory. They carry both Pakistani and Indian brands. The staff is wonderful and pleasant. Yeah the parking lot needs help as well as the entrance. My elderly Mom slipped and fell because it's not well maintained. I won't be taking her there again. It's too dangerous. They need to buy some shopping carts and also have the pavement resurfaced. It's okay inside, but you have to first make it in. They've been around for ages but I had totally forgotten about them. I'll ship there again, but they need to advertise so people remember that they exist. They could expand the sabzi section. It's very basic. They need to freshen up the place, advertise after renovation. Patel Bros isnt as big and nice, but they have it together when it comes to fresh vegetables and fruits. They're far though and Sabzi Mandi is in a great location. Get some new paint, redo the aisles, fix the flooring and pavement, advertise specials, and market your kitchen more. You have the potential to make a lot of money but to do so you need to invest in your building and parking area. Get together with the Halal place and share the costs. People want to shop at your store, but the market has improved and there is a lot of competition. You have to keep up with it. Just because it's running and you have business doesn't mean you let things as is. No improve and you will get so much more business. Open another location. Really expand on and take advantage of your brand name Sabzi Mandi should be the one stop destination for all Desis looking to buy desi groceries and sabzis. You have the reputation and clients, make us not even think about going anywhere else. Get yourself a marketing person on staff. Good job and I hope this review helps light a fire for...
