Unprofessional and unreliable.
IF YOU ARE WANTING TO BOOK A STYLE SERVICE FOR A SAME DAY EVENT-PROM, DANCE, PHOTOS. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS ULTA SALON I booked a âcurling styleâ appointment with the salon for 11 AM on Sunday, 7/10. I called Saturday, 7/9 and confirmed my appointment. When I arrived for my 11 AM appointment, the stylist wasnât there yet- which was no issue. As time ticked on, the other employees seemed confused as to why the stylist wasnât there. Every five minutes or so, someone would come by and ask who I was waiting on, I would share my appointment details, and then they would call in on their mic to see if anyone heard from the stylist. A few staff ensured me she was stuck in traffic, on her way,etc. I was getting nervous- as this appointment was a style appointment for my engagement photos later in the afternoon and I had another appointment at 1 PM to prep for the shoot.
Eventually folks stopped checking on me until one employee answered a phone call request a salon service for the day. The employee shared that âone stylist was completely booked, the other called in and they would need to come back another dayâ. I assumed that the stylist that was booked was my stylistâŚbecause why wouldnât they say she called in. A few more minutes pass and the same employee who took the call in front of me said to me âThe stylist you booked with called in, so youâll have to reschedule.â I said, âI canât reschedule? I have engagement photos this afternoon and I have to have my hair styled before?â And this employee shared âwell the other stylist is fully booked, so you will have to rescheduleâ. I explained again that I had engagement photos and I wouldnât need to reschedule a style only appointment. This employee smirked at me and said âWELL, what do you want me to do about it??â
The lack of professionalism from the stylist to call out during an appointment time is one thing, but the blatant disregard for customer service from the Ulta employee assisting me was appalling. She acted amused that I was upset. I left in tears. I wasted 45 mins, had to drive home, rush to do something with my hair and the rest of the day was a flustered mess. I had an appointment with a well known makeup artist for 10am. After waiting 15 minutes I called and the person told me she didnât have an appointment for me. I sent her the email confirmation received on August 11th for an appointment today August 30th at 10am. She replied she didnât get it on StyleSeat and sheâs in Houston doing makeup for a wedding.
With 4 hrs to spare I found the nearest Ulta in hopes someone could tell me what buy so I could try to do my makeup by myself. I contacted my cousin who works for Ulta in another state for advice and was told to find the Clinique Specialist. Kyleigh was standing there and said yes thatâs me đď¸.
I thought she was going to test some products to give me what I needed and send me on my way but I gladly mistaken. Kyleigh SLAYED my makeup đ and gave me the look I desired and more. She was kind, not rushed, asked if it wanted more or less etcâŚ. A TRUE PROFESSIONAL and example of one that wants customers to me satisfied and comfortable.
We have to stop using social media to try getting in the chairs of people that look like they are at the top of their industry or giving people our business because they have a lot of followers. Also just because someone is a different ethnicity doesnât mean they canât or wonât be able to deliver. Kyleigh made me a believer and Iâm forever changed because of it!

Usually when I go in to re-up on my skincare, someone comes up and helps me and I usually try out what they think I should get, gotta try a lot to find the perfect one am I right? I usually tell them what product I had before and what I did or didn't like about it. However, I was walking around for 10 minutes and I didn't see anyone who worked there except at the register or doing hair. Finally I went on a search and found all of the floor workers huddled in a circle talking in the back corner of the store. I asked if they could help me find some skincare and the little red head looked me up and down and the other 2 just looked like I caught them with their hand in the cookie jar. And completely lost as to what I was looking for. So the little redhead rudely said "you probably need drugstore" I'm like, excuse me? So I should just leave? I'm asking for help. So she rolled her eyes and is picking low quality but still pricey products. Treated me like a child the whole time. I will admit I'm not dressed the best but I wanted comfort and cool over fashionable in this heat and I had a funeral yesterday. She's like "okay there you go" I say thanks and she walks away. No asking questions about any of my current stuff. And I had to tell her my skin type. She was rude and I dropped the products and walked out.
