The stay itself was decent, quaint cabin tucked in a mountain space with wood coverage. Hot tub, decent kitchen, lovely little cabin. Nice quiet area and the cabin was clean. The only reason I'm giving such a low rating is due to the lack of customer service, none of our 3 TVs worked, and the washing machine was extremely finicky (had to wring my clothes out as the washer would not wash them properly). In regards to the customer service, here's what happened: Back in June I reserved our cabin, my mother in-law mentioned trying to find a code and when she did I went to the website to verify the code. The discount code worked! I was happy to save even a few bucks as it was for our honeymoon and we were on a tight budget. Here's where the problem came in, on my reservation email, it stated the correct balance I was to pay WITH the discount code. However, the system had me pay more for my first payment. I thought no biggie, it should be corrected come the second payment that's scheduled. Wrong! So I messaged the customer service email and let them know what was going on with screen shots and everything after I made the second payment. The amount came out to the total before discount and I wasn't too happy. Requested a refund of the difference ($32.77) and was met with a runaround about how it was trip insurance, which was incorrect as I had an itemized receipt showing exact charges. I requested that the difference be refunded at least 2 or 3 times to then only be ignored. Seeing as how this was my honeymoon and I didn't want to stress, I let it go... To then not have TV (even with the instruction in the book, nothing worked and one of the remotes didn't even belong to the TVs in the cabin) and also the laundry issue. Overall, the stay was great, minus those things. You're close to town and the area is quiet. But I'm still displeased with the customer service and how they decided to ignore the obvious issue on their end and then ignore me as well. I recommend the stay, but just don't try using any discount codes, their system will accept then in error charge you the full amount, then the service team will give you the run around and...
Read moreWe made a reservation and received a phone call on our way into town that our cabin would not be ready. Even though online it let us book the cabin. They told us we would have to stay at a different cabin for one night until the other cabin was ready. The cabin that we booked was a very nice cabin with a pool, the cabin that they booked us in for the night was strictly ok. I put the reservation in my name and usually my wife puts it in hers. They would not change the name on the reservation after multiple requests so that we could save the 10% that they offer to returning guests. We were offered zero discounts, zero upgrades, zero anything for all the cabin trouble. We were on the phone with them constantly though our stay dealing with the annoyance of switching cabins. Every time we called we had to leave a message and wait for a call back. Our nice cabin was missing a crucial remote in the theater room, the upstairs master bedroom had a window air unit that was enclosed with cardboard that kept falling out of the window and allowing bugs in. the blinds in the kitchen fell completely out of the window when we touched the twist to open them. My husband was able to fix them being he used to install blinds.we expressed all of these concerns with the response of “ok.” Cabins we stayed in for the price are not very private and are very close to other cabins. Would have not left a review and dealt with it but we are very irritated that they would not honor their 10% promise for returning guests just because it was in a spouses name. This is our second experience with this group, and the first wasn’t ideal either. Bookers beware! They will not budge on any compensation even if they promote it.the first cabin we stayed in the dust was so thick on the dining room chandelier that it was literally falling into our food. We told them about it, and they just said “ok.” That’s pretty much the response you'll get for problems...
Read moreWe stayed in “A Secret Hideaway”, the location was alright, there wasn’t a view except either of the cabins around us or a tank in the woods, TMobile and Verizon didn’t have consistent service in the area, we had enough WiFi to set our maps but that’s about it, there wasn’t enough service to even look at websites unless you’re prepared to wait a few minutes for the page to load. The rooms were a comfortable size and the beds were comfortable, we brought our own pillows so I can’t say the quality of pillows. The pool table was nice as the power went out our last evening there, I had one bar enough to send out a text to the help number and they were quick to respond which was nice. Also, the check-on process was great, we received a door code once the unit was available, it allowed us to take our time traveling. The thermostat does not go below 72, I get it, it’s a large space open space and would cost a fortune to cool, they have ceiling fans throughout the cabin, but if you’re a hot sleeper this is definitely not for you. There is a small kitchen area fully equipped, we personally didn’t utilize so can’t attest to functionality although I did notice the drip pans had grime on them.
The downside: For the price, you can find better. The carpet in the master is brown and crusty with age and use, there is a pretty obvious discoloration between the wall and walkable space where you can see the original carpeting was beige. The place was tidy, it just wasn’t clean. We were also unable to utilize the hot tub while we were there as the screened area was actually missing a screen and there were wasps...
