This is a beautiful island!! It has so much to do and see! It costs $10.00 to get on the island. Once you arrive you have several options of how to spend your time. There is a beach village that offers shopping and restrooms. There is also a miniature golf course and playground. There is a beach entrance that offers bathrooms and outdoor showers. This is a dog friendly beach. Therr are trails throughout this beautiful island. There are benchs to stop and rest along the way with spectacular views. One of the highlights of the island is the seaturtle rescue center. You can purchase tickets online for $11.00 for adults and $8.00 for children. The price is slightly higher if you walk up and purchase tickets. There are also options to be a supporter with various levels to contribute. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about seaturtles and conservation. At the entrance of the island, there is a Circle K and a DIary Queen. Gas is what you would pay if you were in a town. You have bike rental options as well. There is a golf course and golf cart that are gas-powered that seat 6 can be rented. I saw a 4 man covered bike as well. However, I did not see the rental place. Read moreUnlike Driftwood Beach, Oceanview is a lot more pristine and the beach continues for a long while. Flat, hardpacked sand are easy for walking or sitting. The beach has a large parking lot that even includes EV charging stations as well as a building with restrooms, bike racks, and picnic shelters with grills.
The park is well built up and ready to host lots of people. Paved parking, handicapped ramps, trash cans and even showers to get the sand off your kids before you load them back up into the car. It is located on the east side of the island and as it says in the name, it has a view of the ocean. There are no barrier islands beyond here - it's direct exposure to the Atlantic and it's beautiful. Expect strong winds and be aware of riptides.
