Dollar King La Crescenta — Attraction in Glendale

I don't know what the guy who said their selection is lacking was looking for, but this is one of my favorite dollar stores, they have new and cool stuff EVERY WEEK, so I come here every time I'm in Tujunga/Flintridge. Some examples of scores; hair cape (bib for eating in car) sunglasses, reading glasses, cell phone cases, metal wallets, Bells (for grandma to signal she needs help), Keychains galore, cellphone chargers, cables, spun polyester hats that weigh 1 ounce and breathe, (new addiction! sarcasm-less thanks for introducing me to such great hats!) ID badge retractable leash pins, excellent craft supply section (teacher discount), plastic bbs for toy guns, helium balloons, diet mountain dew, belts, nylons, scarves, kitchen stuff, BAGS!! LOTS of small medium and big bags to organize yourself, got 3 nice black bags that convert into Backpacks(for $1.11! each!(!)), clear plastic bags, small multicolored (solid colors, each bag choice of red, blue, purple, green etc), big cosmetic selection, party favors, gift bags, hardware including various audio and video cables, this is one of my top 5 dollar stores, I once even drove from TORRANCE TO TUJUNGA just to come here, so that tells you something... Also on foothill bl, 2 other also great dollar stores to the west. NOT including dollar general, those are good, but like most chains, have the same merch as any other. I try my hardest to come here only if I know I have an hour to spend. Not because it's far, but because that's how long I spend in ONE aisle. The office supply/craft section is kinds like Michaels dollar bins on steroids. I was here a few days ago and they had the cutest variety of double sided embossed scrapbook paper. Every big, wooden letter of the alphabet. Lots of storage containers, boxes, bottles, and bags from teeny to huge. Styrofoam balls in various sizes (you would be surprised at how expensive they usually are) Acrylic paints, brushes, chalk board markers in 10 different colors, sequins, glitter, glitter stickers, puffy stickers, handmade paper stickers, chalk and cork stickers, sticker paper SHEETS, and more. It's not the cheapy stuff either. one of the main brands is forever in time and craft medley I believe. The makeup aisle is pretty large, too. Although I prefer the Sunland location for makeup even though it's a smaller aisle, there's better options. But this is way better on the...

WOW. Where do I begin? Oh yeah: A WHOLE ROOM FOR BEAUTY PRODUCTS?! I was just hoping to find a powder in my shade, because my luck with makeup at other Dollar stores has always been rare.. And not only did they have everything I looked for, but I had to choose from a wide selection of brands and variations! The whole store feels that accommodating too; I just have to point out the cosmetic section because you absolutely will NOT find anything like this anywhere else. Period. I'm sooo happy this shop is in my neighborhood because I buy everything here! Office supplies, candles, cleaning and organizing supplies... And yet somehow everything stays fully stocked and impressively tidy! I don't even get it haha. OH and the arts and crafts aisles (yes, plural!) are incredible and will keep me out of Michaels and Joann's for as long as I can foresee...
