My friend gets a lot of free movie passes for AMC and often insists we go to the Glendora AMC. After our visit Tuesday, I'm putting my foot down and refusing to return. Its never been a great theater. Its amenities are average, its restrooms are always in poor repair, it attracts a lot of rude customers, and often the employees are more interested in their private conversations than in doing their jobs. For some reason, the volume on the 3D movies is turned up all the way so you feel like you are standing in front of the speakers at a rock concert. We started wearing ear plugs for 3D showings. With a well-seated earplug, you can hear every bit of whispered dialog and don't leave with your ears ringing. Tuesday the Glendora AMA took a bad movie experience to new levels. My friend wanted to burn all of her free passes in one day, so we bought tickets for a full day at the movies. Upon entering the theater, there was no one collecting tickets. We were there all day and there was no one collecting tickets all day long. So anyone could just walk in and watch as many movies as they want to without paying and many people did exactly that. In all of the movies we saw, there were people running in and out giggling loudly in some form of movie theater tag. That was distracting and annoying. Then came our last movie of the day where 70% of the audience kept running in and out of the theater. The loud couple who came in late, sat 5 seats away from us, and proceeded to jerk each other off and shake the whole back row (the one against the wall) flatly refused to do it quietly. When I went to get an usher the guy had his feet on the chair in front of him and refused to move them to let me pass. I had to push past him and then he kicked me as I walked away. I brought back an usher who tried to talk to the guy. The guy told the usher he didn't have his feet on the chair blocking the aisle (while they were still up and completely blocking the aisle) and that he didn't have to do what the usher said. The usher turned tail and ran. I was offered free tickets to come back another time. Nope. I'm done. This is a dirty, loud, and unsafe theater. The employees don't even have the courage to ask criminally misbehaving customers to leave or to even call the police to have them removed. ANYONE can just walk in and do ANYTHING they want to the theater and other customers with no consequences at all. There is no security in this theater at all. So if you want to pay so that other people can spoil 2 hours of your time, go to the Glendora AMC. Otherwise, go to just about any other theater. My favorite is the Edwards La Verne. It is clean (the bathrooms are average), has the reclining seats, polite and professional staff, and lots...
Read moreremier Membership? More Like a Scam.
I’m beyond disappointed with how this theater handles its so-called Premier Membership. I paid for this membership expecting priority service, as advertised. That’s literally the only reason I signed up.
During my recent visit, there were two lines at the concession stand — one for Premier Members (with only 2 people ahead of me) and another for regular guests (with 6+ people). Naturally, I got in the Premier line, thinking it meant what the sign said: priority service. Wrong.
When it was finally my turn, the employee at the Premier register decided to skip me and start calling people from the regular line. When I asked why I wasn’t being helped, his response was basically “I’m serving both lines.” So what’s the point of the Premier line? Why am I paying extra for "priority" if I’m treated the same — or worse?
I asked for clarification and was met with attitude and submissiveness. I was told “that’s just how I do it,” and when I asked for a manager, the employee said he was the manager which is honestly even more concerning.
This experience made the Premier Membership feel like a scam. It’s misleading, poorly managed, and clearly not enforced consistently. Don’t waste your money. The “benefits” are just marketing fluff, and customer service is nowhere near the level it should be for paying members.
I won’t be renewing, and I’ll be warning others not to fall for this gimmick.
Quick Update (8/13/25) I followed the instructions on how to contact customer service and provide feedback on their website. I left all my information, but as suspected it went into a black hole.
The responses we receive here are either automated or someone from the company trying to make it seem that they care, but it is just smoke and mirrors. Don't get scammed by these...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews, but my experience at AMC Glendora 12 was so disappointing that I feel like people should know before spending their money here. First off, the theater feels extremely outdated compared to other AMCs in the area. The seats are old, uncomfortable, and don’t recline the way you’d expect for the price of tickets these days. The armrests are sticky, and a few even looked broken. The overall cleanliness was poor—trash was left behind in several rows, the floor was sticky with soda, and it didn’t look like the staff made much of an effort to tidy up between showings. Concessions were another huge letdown. The line was long even though only a handful of people were in it, since only one employee seemed to be working. When I finally got my popcorn and drink, the popcorn was stale and lukewarm, and the soda machine was out of two flavors. For the price they charge, the quality should be so much better. The theater itself didn’t provide a good viewing experience either. The screen had visible smudges or marks on it, and the projection looked dim, like the bulb hadn’t been changed in a while. The sound system was unbalanced—sometimes too loud during action scenes, then too quiet during dialogue. To make things worse, people were talking and using their phones throughout the movie, and no staff ever came in to monitor or enforce theater etiquette. Overall, AMC Glendora 12 feels like a theater that’s been neglected. For the high ticket and concession prices, I expected a clean, modern, and comfortable experience. Instead, I left frustrated and feeling like I wasted my money. Until this location makes serious improvements, I would recommend driving a little further to a different AMC or another...
