Doggie Heaven! I have been using Timber Creek for a few months. It is wonderful! The dog park portion is a a 9 acre wooded and fenced area. It is a lovely walk in the woods, the fenced in woods! There are three sets of double gates (so dogs don't accidentally get out). You don't need to bring water as someone brings gallons of water each day and there are dog bowls. In addition, there is a people/pet water fountain just outside the fenced area. The people drink on top, and there is a built-in bowl at the bottom that has a separate spigot.
There are also lots of wooded paths outside of the fenced area. One of them leads to a pond which the dogs are allowed to swim in. Be ready to hose your dog off afterwards as it has a sand beach and is always a messy good time!
I have not had any negative experiences with other dogs. Most people there are regulars and are very welcoming to newcomers. Of course, you pick up after your pet. There are lots of trash cans around and even some bags. If you want to walk with a pack, people usually welcome your well-behaved dog. I started with my dog on leash to see how she would react, but quickly felt comfortable to go off-leash.
Pros: There is a clean public bathroom and picnic area in the parking lot. There is also another open field with paved walkway on the other side of the park. People walk and jog there, and there are two more picnic pavilions there.
Beautiful wooded paths for people and/people with their pets outside of the pooch park area.
Pokemon Go Trainers: There are Poke Stops here as well.
Children's playground in the woods.
Cons: ...
Read moreHaving just moved to Philly, I was on the hunt for a great place to take my dog to cool off during the super hot days, and discovering Timber Creek Dog Park was heaven sent. This place has quickly become my go-to spot. It’s a fantastic workout for both pawrents and their fur babies!
My dog, Blumi, had the best time exploring the trail down to the water. It’s the perfect place for your dog to play and socialize with other dogs. Blumi had never gone swimming before (I know, I know), but I’ve been really wanting to get him more comfortable with the water, and this was the perfect opportunity. The dogs were having an absolute blast, and the other pawrents were actively watching their pets, which I greatly appreciated. I didn’t experience any aggressive dogs, which is something I'm always very cautious about due to trust issues, but I had a very pleasant experience here.
To get the most out of your visit, I recommend bringing a backpack with all essentials for both you and your dog. Being prepared will ensure you and your pup have a fantastic time. Enjoy your visit to Timber Creek Dog Park – it’s a gem for both dogs and...
Read moreI take my dogs here everyday, literally. Great dog park, dog lake and walking trails. Also an amazingly smooth .5 mile paved path to run, walk, bike or even Rollerblade! There is something for every dog to enjoy of all ages. If you don't like your dog off leash, walk the paved loop, if your dog is a swimmer, the lake is amazing. If your dog likes to run free and sniff for wildlife or dig, the fenced in dog park is just wonderful. NOTE: this is totally a dog lovers park. If you aren't a big fan of dogs, I would say you might like the paved path, but for the most part, this is a haven for people with dogs. Some people complain about that, but for me, the more dogs the happier I am. Also, of all the times I've been there, I never saw any real serious dog issues. I have heard stories about smaller dogs getting hurt, but well, I would highly recommend if you have a little dog, don't bring them into the off leash area. Not only are there big dogs running free, but there are all sorts of hawks and eagles looking for a bite-...
