Bought a Season Pass with the assumption ( most researched hours of operation for “Jambalaya Park/Pool” ) pool hours were 8a-8p. That’s perfect for me. I can only get the free time early in the day or later in the evening to swim. I LOVE to swim!! Bring me to the area, it turns out I was misinformed:-/The pool is only operational from 11a-6p(!!!!!!) WHAAAAAAT? That’s the hottest time of the day. The water is NEVER even cool. It’s as hot & heavy as the air outside. Lame. My favorite time to swim is first thing in the morning before the sun get to heat up the water & evening when it’s cooled off. Otherwise…. I’ma boiling chicken ;-) One out of the 4, maybe 5 times I went; a young woman life guard was SO RUDE!! In the deep end, 12ft water, where a ladder is much more lifesaving than in shallow water; the ladder just hung there. Under the water on maybe 2 screws of maybe 8 to be safely attached, dangled the ladder. Sharp edged & all. I tried to get the attention of the life guards a few times; politely in my “phone voice”. After being (obviously ignored) I loudly asked for her attention by saying, “EXCUSE ME LADY LIFEGUARD”. She decided to acknowledge me that time. She says the knew it was like that. I just giggled & left. Not only was she totally disregarding the safety of the swimmers; she was just very unhappy in general. You are a life guard. If people aren’t your gig-need not apply. Long story short, not worth the $50. If they extended the hours I would even be willing to pay more for a Season Pass. As it stands now; I’ll get a slip-n-slide...
Read moreMy granddaughter is a member of a quince party and they been practicing there. It has an open theater style stage with concrete risers and plenty of seating. It is well lit with winding sidewalks throughout the park. There's a playground with swings and jungle gyms with consideration for handicapped patrons. Center of the park is host to a nice walk area through a waterway sanctuary with a small bridgewalk with water running beneath. It then opens up to a fun filled splash pad full of giggles and groans as the water may spray you u expectantly. There's also an outdoor pool connected to a staffed indoor community center. There's also outdoor fields to enjoy with baseball...soccer and maybe a few practice...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting, and it was fun. You have to come early enough to get a seat but overall it was great. My niece enjoyed herself. The atmosphere was good and everybody got along. But I will say we need to start picking up behind ourselves. A few people left trash on the ground at at the splash side and that park is too beautiful to be treated that way. The pool side was well maintained and the 4 life guards were all so attentive. I'll...
