When your not focused on healthy and want some good ole comfort food sometimes this place hits the mark. Corn fritters should be a mainstay and offered everytime... Unfortunately they are not. Their food management (how full and fresh are the go-to seconds bins) is average at best but the poor old lady filling up the bins oh so slowly makes you from and bear it. I do love the character of the restaurant and each time I go (less and less now) I am hopeful that wait staff will be attententive (they are always friendly though - a bit young but friendly) and the food will be hot and fresh and quickly replenished whenever it runs out. We were providing production at Jambalaya Fest again this year and needed a place for lunch. Country Kitchen showed up on my timeline as a local place with great reviews, so we gave it a try. It did not disappoint. We didn't realize it was a buffet, as we usually shy away from those. This one was full of home cooked food. Fried and baked chicken, gumbo, baked fish, Jambalaya with white beans, and then some. We also found a full salad bar, as well as a desert bar. Everything was clean and well kept.
