10/25/2025 EDIT: Editing this review to add that we’ve been to this NCG only once since I left this review. The girls working the concessions stand were incredibly snotty and rude. We’ve started going to the Emagine in Birch Run and it is night and day. The employees there are kind and courteous, and I’ve never experienced a bad theater crowd there. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra twenty minutes to get treated like a human being.
(Now back to the original review!)
This theater is such a joke.
I saw the 10pm IMAX screening of Weapons on Friday, August 8th, 2025. A group of three walked into the IMAX theater twenty minutes into the movie. They are being loud, talking and laughing and shouting and clanging crutches together. (One of them was on crutches.)
I leave the theater to go find an NCG employee. I run into two young guys in the hall. I ask if either of them is a manager; they tell me to check the office and point off in some direction. I look where they’re pointing and tell them there’s nobody over there. They walk me over to the office, go into the room, and bring out a manager. The two young guys clearly didn’t want to be bothered, they were nice enough, whatever. But this manager truly did not give a crap. I told her about the three who walked in; she goes, “oh yeah, I know who you’re talking about, I just sold them tickets.” She says she’ll take care of it. But truly seemed completely put out by my even speaking to her.
This is all just sad. This NCG is really the only halfway decent movie theater in the area, as far as projection quality, sound quality, seats, etc. But the employees DO NOT CARE about anything. And, hey, I get it. I’ve worked customer service for many years, and god knows NCG isn’t paying them enough, so yeah. You hate your job. It sucks when you have to actually interact with customers.
But, when people are paying $34 for two movie tickets—and OBVIOUSLY you care about the money and nothing else, or else why would you sell tickets to a movie that has already been playing for twenty minutes—maybe act like you give a crap?
The young female manager with glasses and long dark curly hair really has no business being in customer service. And if you can’t bother to have ushers check theaters, you really have no business running a theater. And really, you’re gonna sell tickets to a movie that’s already been showing for twenty minutes? Screw all your customers who got there on time, I guess.
I get it, man. Nobody cares about anything, it’s just about money, bla bla bla. It’s just a real sad time for anyone who actually loves going to see movies in a movie theater.
Including a screenshot of the tickets that we paid for. This is not a...
Read moreWe paid over 50 dollars for 2 seats, a small popcorn, a pop and a water to see "The Boy and the Heron" only to have to listen to the Beyonce movie in the theatre next to us almost the entire time. Whoever is in charge of theatres and showtimes should have known better than to play those 2 films in theaters next to each other at the same time. "The Boy and the Heron" is nearly silent for large portions of the movie while the Beyonce movie has near constant bass beats at ridiculously loud volumes for the majority of it. I don't know if the soundproofing between the theaters is subpar or if the audio was turned up louder than normal on the Beyonce side, but I have never been in a situation where I couldn't focus on the movie in the theatre I was in because of a movie playing in an adjacent theatre. It took us completely out of the moment and ruined the experience. It would be similar to if you were trying to watch TV in your apartment while your next door neighbors were having a rave, it gets old quick. I went to the lobby to see if I could find a manager but did not see anyone except those at the counter who were standing around talking to each other and didn't even acknowledge me, so I left.
Whoever is in charge, please take this into consideration and stagger times and theatres so this doesn't happen to others, it was obviously a problem to others in the theatre as well. A concert movie with constant bass like Beyonce should probably be in an end unit with nothing playing next to it for...
Read moreThe last 3 times I have been here, something has gone wrong. The first time, the audience was very rude with many teenagers making interruptions. Nothing the theater can do about that, just bad etiquette. The second time, we had the same problem with two grown men having a conversation throughout the entirety of the movie. In addition, the projector for the movie was not lined up properly, so you couldn’t see the top of the frame of the movie. Finally, the straw that broke the camels back. The third time, this Saturday, we went to see Barbie. Immediately we realized there were young teens in the front messing around but hoped once the movie started they would quiet. This wasn’t the case. These kids continued to run in and out of the theater , slamming the doors each time. I assume they were doing this in other theaters. At one point they were yelling at each other and using their flashlight to find something they dropped on their last trip to our theater. Young teens in the back were also yelling and moaning during the movie, completely distracting me from the movie. At one point, half of the screen turned yellow interrupting the scene. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this theater. The sad part is, I do like the theater, but moviegoers have completely lost any respect here. If you want to actually comprehend your movie, I recommend making the drive to Emagine in Birch Run or Cinemark...
