Here is a recap of the experience we had for delivery from Cottage Inn Flint on Monday, July 3rd. If this was my company, I would be so embarrassed. Shame on you!
We travel a lot and eat out a lot. Because of this we order take out / delivery a lot from local restaurants. I can say with confidence that the delivery order we just received from Cottage Inn is the worst meal we have ever had delivered to us.
We ordered what we thought was simple...2 orders of 8 wings at $6.99 each (different flavors), one chicken Caesar salad and one antipasto salad with no red onions and we paid extra for black olives. We were quoted 1 hour for delivery.
After an hour and 15 minutes had passed we called and were told that the order was coming. We actually got the order an hour and a half after we ordered it.
We ordered and paid for 2 orders of 8 wings..at $6.99 each. We got one order of 14 wings...valued at $9.99. The antipasto salad was supposed to have no onions and we paid extra for black olives. We received a salad with red onions and no black olives that we paid extra for.
Additionally, we tipped $5.00 on the website in the "tip" area. The driver told us that they only received $1.00 of the $5.00 "tip" so we felt it was only right to tip the driver additional money.
I called the restaurant to speak with the manager. She told me that she couldn't credit me for any of the overage / overcharge of the order they messed up on. She told me the only thing she could do was remake the order. She would not credit me for any of the overcharges or mistakes they made...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer at this location, ordering the exact same pizza several times a month without any issues—until now. On 8/15, I ordered my usual pizza, and within two hours of eating it I became violently ill for several hours. This was the only meal I had eaten in the last eight hours, so there is no doubt where it came from.
When I called to report my concerns, instead of being treated with professionalism or care, the so-called “manager on duty” was hostile and dismissive. She outright dismissed my illness as food poisoning, claiming it couldn’t possibly be food poisoning because “it would take at least 24 hours to appear, so you probably have the flu.” This is completely false — some types of food poisoning caused by bacterial toxins can make you extremely sick within 1–6 hours. My concern about potential food safety issues was met with arrogance and denial. Her exact response was: “Well good luck reporting it to the health department, they love us here”—and then she hung up on me.
This is absolutely unacceptable. Not only was I made seriously ill, but I was also treated with arrogance and disrespect when simply trying to report a legitimate food safety concern. That is a massive red flag for how this location is being managed.
To be clear: I will be filing a report with the health department. The callous attitude and lack of accountability shown by this “manager” has cost you a customer permanently. If corporate or ownership cares at all about their reputation, they should take a hard look at the kind of management they are...
Read moreHow hard is it to make a pizza and pizza related food? It must be a lot harder than in the 80’s when I worked at Little Caesars and everyone got 2 pizzas. Complete working chaos back then. It must have gotten a lot harder now to make 1 pizza. Of course me and my friend were pretty stoned back then. Maybe that was our advantage?? Maybe it was that we actually cared about what a person was going to put in their body for nourishment?? Maybe it was we would be fired for substandard performance ?? Not sure.. And can’t really remember messing up an order. Go figure?!? This cottage inn… won’t say all of them..that wouldn’t be fair.. SUCKS. I think it is their policy of “ we really don’t care about the customer service” that does them dirty. The guy actually said to me ( when I complained about a bad order) that “not everyone’s kid is a star” … he must be the leader. We won’t be back.. and I don’t even want them to reply to this and say “hey here is our number let us make this right”. They should consider something better than what they have because they are failing miserably. Good bye cottage inn grand Blanc… we will hope the best for you when...
