The Art Center — Attraction in Grand Junction

I’m going to preface this by saying, my event was about 3 years ago, I’m writing about it now because it still bothers me that it happened. I had my baby shower here because I was wanting a classy and more sophisticated type of shower. We had two full cars of decorations and food. We had payed for a certain amount of time and I understood this. It’s a beautiful location and everything looked nice and was comfortable. My issue and the reason for my rating is the customer service was lacking and insensitive. I was right in the middle of opening my baby shower presents when the front desk person came in and told us we had to wrap everything up, he was not very nice and seemed put out that we were there at all. From my understanding he wanted to go home and my baby shower was in his way of leaving. We had almost reached our limit of time which I understand, but he didn’t ask if we wanted to pay extra to extend our time, which I would have done since it was to be my only baby shower. Instead we were unceremoniously rushed out of the venue. I would recommend this venue because the courtyard is beautiful, but only if you are willing to pay extra ahead of time for more time then you will need so you aren’t pushed out the door before...

I contacted someone about increasing classes for adult community members. The Center doesn't seem interested in doing anything but ceramics . It is missing out on great opportunities to bring in new members and supporters of the Center as more than an art gallery. I joined when I moved to GJ in 2020, but I am not renewing my membership since it doesn't provide me any additional benefits or incentives. I am creating my own artistic opportunities outside the Center. Very sad that the Center isn't interested in cultivating new members to...

I've tried to go to 3 open studio classes, and they've all been canceled with no warning. I've tried to call ahead (no one picks up or returns calls), and look online (it always says classes are a go). So my friends and I show up and nothing happens!
