I first visited Yoga Fever a few months back with the goal of increasing and maintaining my flexibility. For my exercise, I typically spend quite a bit of time lifting weights in the gym and was concerned about feeling a bit too tight. Just one example is that I would often get tension headaches, as I perceived, from having a very tight trapezius stemming from my shoulder and back workouts. Since I've started practicing yoga here, I've noticed a distinct decrease in occurrence of headaches. I can't be entirely certain it's the reason, but it seems to be so. Shortly after, I made a commitment to myself by signing on for a year!
Early on in my visits, I quickly noticed the quality of the staff and studio. It has a sharp design and always is well maintained. The staff has yet to do anything but impress me with their courtesy and level of expertise. Instructors have always been mindful of each person and their own developmental stage. There has been no pressure, only responsible encouragement. I have also been impressed by the consideration and knowledge of appropriate movement, especially with attention to creating an alteration in practice when it has been needed. I must say though, goddess pose really gave me a challenge. Maybe if I hadn't done my squats and deadlifts in the gym that day I'd have had a better chance at that one!
Looking a bit more closely at a few of the details of the studio, I had never before attempted hot yoga. Increasing the temperature has allowed for increased flexibility by keeping my muscles and joints warm as I practice. Upon further research, I've found that the warmth also encourages a natural detox, and produces an increased cardio workout.
Considering the health value provided, and all of the people involved, I am happily adding this to my exercise routine. It's only been a couple months, but I certainly look forward to the future! Highly...
Read moreYes, the studio is beautiful, the variety of classes in one place are cool, the instructors are knowledgeable and the community is very welcoming. The owner though? Condescending, rude, and wildly unhelpful. After asking her to spell my name right a few times, she responded with 'Laurynn (with two n's)'. I'm not sure why she couldn't just spell my name right and be professional but okay.
I had an unlimited monthly membership and that doesn't cover any missed/late classes. If fees are changed, don't expect formal communication via email or their Instagram. You have to check the studio for postings. If you want to do the special themed rides or special yoga classes, even if you have an unlimited membership, guess what extra fee! When you try to cancel, it takes 30 days, okay valid. But you have to come in to sign a waiver, even though when you sign up online there is nothing that says you need to sign a waiver, just the 30 days. Then if you don't sign the waiver, don't give the account 30 days to reflect the cancellation and haven't taken any classes, if your monthly renewal fee comes around, you will be expected to pay or have your account go to collections. Then if you go in and sign the waiver, told by someone at the front desk it will be taken care of, that is not true. So then if you want help so your credit isn't ruined, tough.
I loved Yoga Fever so much and it was a wonderful community to be apart of. But ever since the previous studio manager was wronged and left, the communication with the owner has been awful and tedious. My communication with her was strictly via IG and email, but even if I explained myself very clearly, I was not understood. I paid a lot of money to a woman that does not respect her employees or her customers...
Read moreI LOVE YogaFever! I am a member there, even-though there's a studio closer to my house - I drive the extra distance because I rather have the atmosphere, the instructors and just all around vibe that Yoga Fever offers.
About a year ago, my friend and I were taking random fitness classes just doing new things. I had NEVER done yoga before, but Shannon was so awesome with her instruction during my first class that I quickly picked up each pose and was able to flow with the rest of the yogis. I continue to practice at YogaFever because no matter what class I attend, the instructor is well-prepared, knowledgeable and very very helpful for "newbies" like myself. At the same time, they recognize those in class that can move a little deeper and a little farther as seasoned yogis and will provide variations of each pose according to your comfort level. Its fun to push myself to reach new poses and I can definitely see an improvement in my strength, my fitness level, my flexibility, my asthma, my allergies... all of the above are benefits of hot yoga.
I recommend YogaFever to just about everyone in my life, you will not be disappointed. If you are new to yoga like I was, it is NOT as intimidating as you assume it to be! Give YogaFever a try, you can thank...
