Veterans Memorial Park — Attraction in Grand Rapids

A nicely wooded park with ample seating for picnics. Two pavilions, plus picnic tables in a variety of other locations. Appreciated the proximity of a couple of the tables to the playground, as it made keeping an eye on my daughter very easy. Thus park has gone down alot since I grew up. They built a dog park in the park, and it seems like the itasca county doesn't want to have it look nice there's always garbage laying around on the ground anymore. The two playgrounds have been there since I was little which should have nicer parks instead of building a dog park, they should've built a nicer and bigger playground for kids. Free recreation area, with lots of extras. Love the area, and the openness of the layout. Plenty of room for children to play. Walking and dig park s are both here.
