Grayslake Heritage Center — Attraction in Grayslake

This place is really cool. The staff is really nice and willing to share knowledge about their museum and the city. There are 2 levels on the main level and they also have an annex. In the main building they have all sorts of artifacts from almost the beginning of the city. Really worth the time to come here. In the annex they have an original fire truck from the 50s that still works and they use it in the parades, also few other vehicles and machinery. The Grayslake Historical Society collects, owns, and preserves the artifacts. The Heritage Center is a separate entity and only displays what the society lends them.

Poor...they don't respond to messages at all. They advertise on their website to contact them if you have a collection for consideration for display. They don't respond to emails nor facebook messages. It's a very important part of customer service for a public institution to interact with the public (including responding to messages). They don't seem to find it important to respond. Won't be stopping...
