This review is partially for the Antique Market Place itself, and partially for the amazing customers it attracts. The mall itself is huge, bright, well-organized and in the times I've come, has great turnover so you won't get bored by multiple visits. This is a true antique mall, not a flea market with aspirations. On Saturday I visited the store and lost my wallet in the parking lot, either getting out of my truck or getting back in. I didn't notice it until an hour after leaving when I was 70 miles away and the store was closed. I cancelled my bank cards and drove back to scan the parking lot where I found nothing. All it could do is wait for the store to open on Sunday and hope. I knew there was a chance that the type of people who shop here are the type of people who wouldn't just take what they could find from my wallet and toss it in the trash. But, I didn't know how big that chance was. I figured at the very least, that crisp $50 would be gone, and I'd consider that a happy reward in trade for saving me from having to replace the contents. I also figured that the way we seem to be sliding towards a world that's a cross between Mad Max and The Purge, the odds were against me getting my wallet back. But there are still good people left, and apparently they shop here. The great staff at the store were given my wallet by the anonymous finder, who I wish I could thank in person, and kept it safe until I could return. The $50 was still there, a little more soggy than crisp due...
Read moreThe store itself is beautiful and full of amazing finds — definitely worth visiting for the antiques and unique pieces. I have been visiting this place a lot and would frequently go. However, the customer service left a really bad taste in my mouth.
While we were there, the red-headed, curly-haired woman at the register was already being snarky to another customer, using a rude tone. I tried to brush it off, but when it came time for her to help us, she kept the same attitude. As my friend and I walked away, she even went as far as to mock me.
It’s disappointing because the store is genuinely wonderful, but an employee’s bad temper can really ruin the experience. If you can’t treat customers respectfully, maybe it’s time to work on that before representing a business.
Just saying if you can’t control your own attitude after having a bad interaction with a customer doesn’t mean you should lash out at the rest of them who didn’t even do anything. Go to Granddaddy's Antique...
Read moreAllowing the display or sale of a swastika is in VERY poor taste. The place is huge with a bunch of very cool booths, a bit overpriced but overall very nice. Until I got to the last booth where the flags were on the wall..Allowing that to be posted at a booth for everyone to see is a disgrace, extremely inconsiderate and downright offensive.. Especially right near the front of the store where it might be the first thing that people notice. It's unwelcoming and heartbreaking. If you care enough for it to be preserved and want it to go to someone who understands the horribly tragic meaning behind such a symbol, Take it to a museum and donate it for free. I refuse to give my business that would allow this and I hope that you don't allow that vendor to sell or display it. Change is made one person at a time
*Just noticed someone also said something a month ago and no action was taken. That's...
