Genuine Georgia — Attraction in Greensboro

This well-stocked shop of local artisan wares, both practical and artistic, is a great place to find a gift to remember your visit to Greensboro. We weren't there for the shopping though. This is the only place to get the key to enter the old gaol. It's a few blocks away, but you have to come here to sign in for the chamber of commerce so that they know who wants to see this wonderful old relic of a building. We are camping with another couple nearby and were looking for something to do. My wife discovered the shop Genuine Georgia, which holds the key to visit the nearby jail.

We went in to pick up the key for the old jail and found the lady running the shop to be delightful and full of information about the town and nearby attractions.

Although the shop wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea, my wife and our friends’ wife really enjoyed it and plan to return on our next trip to buy some things.

Absolutely one of the best places to look at , and purchase beautiful local (Georgia) artists work. Huge variety of locally made items from wood items to jewelry and paintings. Prices are overall very good especially for a one-off item. On street parking is readily available except for holidays. Owner is very helpful...
