Barbecue come in all flavors some I like more than others. I happen to like this flavor a lot. Servings were very generous and delicious. We had pulled pork sandwiches and plates with side of Mac and cheese, collards and coleslaw. Pulled pork plate had a very nice corn bread. Very tasty ice tea that wasn’t too sweet. Service was excellent. Owner/chef talked to us and wanted to make sure everything was to our expectations. On street parking is available. Restaurant has short hours around the weekend, so be sure to check times.

Ordered fried fish, potato salad, and mac and cheese. It came with a slice of bread and tarter sauce. If I had to gripe it would be about the potato salad. It was a bit more liquid than I'm accustomed to. I prefer a more salad taste more so than soup. The flavor was delicious, though. I'd 100% without doubt recommend this restaurant. There was a gentleman there that was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone else was focusing on the other customer there as he appeared to be a regular or family.

My wife and I tried Family Ties over the weekend, and words cannot describe how delicious it was. You can tell it’s a quality meat when it doesn’t need sauce to be flavorful. It all but melted in my mouth. The sides were fantastic as well: tangy beans and salty fried okra and a wonderfully dense corn muffin. To top it all off, the staff were so welcoming and kind. The owner came out and checked on us, and we felt so cared for. We will definitely become regulars here!!!

I'm staying at a near RV park and had a bad jones for some good barbecue. I'm so glad I found this place and lives up to the comments I read before coming here. The ribs have a great smoke ring and cooked perfectly, not overcooked like so many places. I tried them first without the sauce, the flavor was excellent, savory and smoky. Of course I had to try the sauce, had a nice tang & spiciness, but not too hot so it doesn't overpower the meat. The collards, mac & cheese, and cornbread were all very good and have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow . The service was great and the owner was very friendly. He even told me the type of wood he uses to smoke but I'm not giving away his trade secrets LOL. Do yourself a favor...

Well, let's start with while the table was wobbling around on us, the TV was playing nasty nasty stuff singing about p*55ies and junk. Only the cook/owner guy was kinda nice for the fleeting moment we saw him. Now the food... The fried items were ok at best. The toast isn't toasted, it's straight from the loaf, and limp. The cole slaw had a hint of alcohol fermented taste, we could not eat it.. The sweet tea tasted God awful. I ordered water, and had to pay for a bottled water. The ranch was cheap tasting. For the tiny bit of bad food we got, I want my $30 bucks back. The wings, they were pretty good, but I couldn't enjoy them because the ranch was terrible lol. Oh well,...

We had the best meal at Family Ties BBQ! The brisket was expertly smoked with the right amount of smoke and spices. It was tender and flavorful. Their sauce is a beautiful balance between vinegar and sweet. The wings both lemon pepper and sweet Thai were delicious left us wanting more! The fried okra was top 4 best we’ve had. Everything about Family Ties is a lovely little spot in downtown Greensboro where you feel like family and the food reflects a pride in serving amazing food with smile and love for others. It’s a must if you love small town businesses and love supporting families! Thank you for making Father’s Day’s lunch memorable...
