I got married a few weeks ago here, and I don’t know if I would recommend the venue to other brides. It is a beautiful venue in the summer when everything is in bloom. I toured the venue in December and all the plants were dead and brown. It was winter so that is understandable but the venue is not nearly as pretty during the winter. The issue with having a wedding during the spring at the venue is there are SOO many weddings held at this venue, but they have not taken time to put turf into the ceremony area. So between 3-4 weddings a week and the rain during the spring the ceremony area is a muddy mess. I have been to several other venues that have turf installed to prevent this. I was also told that all cosmetic issues would be fixed by my wedding at the time of the initial walk through. That was not the case attached are pictures of where patchwork was done but not actually. The patch job on the stage area of the arches actually fully lifted up at some point during our wedding. I had very high expectations for the venue. The building is very old and every time I was there the air conditioning seemed to be working. However on the day of my wedding the air went out three times and was out for most of the reception. It was extremely hot and I had multiple guests leave because it was so hot. The coordinator I hired informed us it was out most of the morning and several staff members informed me that it had gone out the night before. I personally reached out to the bride the night before my wedding and she stated the air worked as much as she expected it to. I also spoke the bride the night after my wedding and she said her guests were fanning themselves throughout the entire dinner. I reached out to the owner and she listed several reasons for this. She said that it was because the venue was steaming linens at 2pm, then she said it was my DJ, then her own staff going in and out to set up. We did not gain access to the venue until 11am. It is my opinion that all venue related things should be completed before 11am. My florist could not fully setup arrangements because the linens were not set up. This delayed a lot of setup. Linens should be fully steamed and setup by 11am at the absolute latest. And the air conditioning system cannot handle a summer wedding. The air will not work properly Throughout the entire process, there was a lot of miscommunication of the venues part. The fees we paid included a venue coordinator. I was not aware she would not be present at all during the wedding. I reached out to the owner after the wedding and she did not take accountability for anything that happened day of. The venue is beautiful during the summer but it needs work. They need to invest in a new air system, the floors in the reception hall need to be leveled. The unevenness of the floors does not add to the charm like the venue thinks. They also need a turf installation where the ceremony is held to prevent against the mucky mess on the lawn. The parking area should be paved. And there is very limited handicap accessibility. It was a challenge to get my older relatives out to the ceremony space and then back into reception area. The venue has SOOOO much potential but it does fall short of expectations. And I would not complain about literally any of this if the hospitality had been what it...
Read moreMy daughter and I had a tour scheduled with Ella on June 9th at 1:00pm. My daughter drove three and a half hours (7 hours round trip) and my husband and I drove an hour to meet her for the tour. When confirming my tour the day before I noticed an event was being held at the facility which I thought was odd. Upon arrival, we were informed that our tour had been canceled despite receiving two email confirmations and a text confirmation less than 24 hours before the appointment. I actually received an email the day of the tour 2 hours before the booked tour confirming and asking us not to be late. So we arrived 15 minutes early only to be told our tour had been cancelled. When we asked to speak to Ella to see what happened, we were told that Ella was present but occupied with clerical work and would not come out to speak with us. A kind staff member named Hayley offered to walk us through the grounds but essentially told us we would have to conduct the tour on our own. Hayley said Ella had emailed us to cancel but neither my daughter nor I received the email. If she did email, which I don’t believe she did, and did not get a response from us, she should have picked up the phone and called to confirm we received the cancellation. And if she emailed to cancel, why would she also send an email 2 hours before the appointment confirming?? We passed by Ella during our walk around the grounds, but she avoided eye contact and did not speak to us. Impressions from our self-guided tour: Horrible parking- however parking attendants are provided which I’m sure helps. Cheap fixtures – the windows in the buffet room, which also serves as the rain backup wedding chapel, were made of badly scratched plexiglass. For the amount of money this venue charges, you would think they could spend $100 on a piece of glass so you could see the gardens through the windows instead of scratched up plexiglass. The bridal "getting ready area" is awful, with tiny stairs covered in worn-out 1970s carpet and cheap Walmart flowers around the mirrors. The mirrors at the hair and makeup stations are extremely small- practically microscopic. The outdoor furniture is old, worn, and looks like it might fall apart. The cheap metal chairs around the fire pit should be replaced with nice Adirondack chairs. The furniture for the cocktail hour is cheap metal seating with wobbly legs. I could go on and on…. Big disappointment!!
Avoid this venue. It looks a lot different in person than it does in the pictures. The high prices do not reflect the poor quality of the facilities. It should be much nicer for the amount they charge. Not to mention the lack of organization and poor customer service should be a red flag. I read other negative reviews regarding Ella being inconsiderate- guess...
Read moreOur daughter and her fiancé selected the beautiful Wildflower 301 venue after we visited several venues in TN and GA. At my husband’s and my first visit, my daughter introduced us to the amazing Wildflower 301 staff. To know the members of this gifted team is truly to love each one right from the start! They were warm sincere people who were very professional. The energy, respect and comradeship among the Wildflower 301’s culturally diverse staff was admirable and a joy to behold. The owners, Shauna Altes and Head Chef Lee are passionate about their work. They are also kind and flexible, and whenever it was possible, they made efforts to accommodate us. Shauna, Chef Lee and their staff were the balm team that we needed to be confident that our daughter and our future son-in-law would have a beautiful wedding experience. In retrospect, I only wish that Ella was our daughter’s wedding day coordinator. Manager/Planner, Ella, knows the facility, and she understands exactly what should and should not take place to expedite a really smooth operation. She is wise and business minded, but not greedy, and she helped us save money by making practical suggestions. Ella knows wedding etiquette. Important. She also empathizes and genuinely desires to the help the bride and her family to realize their wedding day dreams. Ella gave us the cost package at the first meeting, and the bottom line remained the same throughout our business transactions. There were no monetary surprises at the end. I wish that every bride could have an “Ella”. I met Lisa the day prior to the wedding, and I discovered that she and Ella make a fantastic duo. Lisa helped Ella to resolve behind the scene difficulties in a way that Ella knew that both my daughter and I would appreciate. She was as respectful, tactful and as efficient as everyone else. Shout out to Val, the accountant, who did not miss a beat. Also, important. And, last but not least, Chef Ron was our amazing chef! He will take you on a culinary journey. His appetizers razzle-dazzled our tastes buds, and his main course and breads were outrageous! Our guests were 50% plant-based and 50% carnivorous, and his food satisfied everyone’s palates. The guests are still raving about the food and his culinary skills. The carnivores decided they would sample the plant-based food and they loved it too! It was important to me that all my guests enjoyed their entre selections, and Chef Ron hit it out of the ball park. Post wedding, my daughter and (new) son had a remarkable wedding day experience. Also, my husband and I appreciated all the services provided by the team at the Wildflower 301. I highly recommend this beautiful fairytale-like...
