Traveling through from South carolina to Georgia with my family (2 adults and 2 children)..found restaurant on google and NOT wanting a chain restaurant..chose a 'down home...homecooked food'.. Immediately found that the special included a prime rib 18.99...we ordered both this as well as the chopped sirloin..We were surprised to see that the chopped sirloin was a premade shaped piece of meat that resembled cafeteria meatloaf...(my 12 yr old didnt mind..he's a child that is at an age that will eat a meal prior to a meal.).. My prime rib however was not cooked to order..we ordered med rare...we got medium..was exstreemly dry..and had 'grey' color..(FYI.. im a chef).. After explaining to our waiter it was unacceptable..to dry..to done and requested to reorder our main course..we woukd just keep our sides...he graciously obliged and we ordered the country fried steak...(pre made and pre pattied topped with what was obviously a dry mix brown gravy)..As I stated we were traveling with tired hungry kids..so we did eat the country fried steak...and recieved our bill..along with(confusingly) the prime rib..quickly noticing that they charged us..I spoke with manager..and was told..he didnt 'feel' it was inferior product...and had to charge us...Even i explained tat it was IMPOSSIBLE to cook that steak and get any less done or more tender..(???) I have NEVER experienced this type of service ..in fact this is the first time i have ever left a negative review on ANY restaurant... I would advise ANYONE to stop at a McDonald's before visiting a restaurant that has the customer service this one exhibited..

Read moreI want to first say we were VERY excited to see the cafe reopen, we had our first chance to go in today (3/18/25) right at opening. We were the 3rd table sat and our waitress was Rhonda. First the pleasant things: Rhonda our waitress was nice enough, the hostess (no name) was SUPER nice, the interior is beautiful and comfortable, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. The neutral things: there is NO space for anyone but one table to get inside the door at the hostess stand, the menu is a tad odd and lacking for certain items (in our opinion), prices are steep (but that can be overlooked with inflation, if the serving sizes are generous, etc). The bad, we were the 3rd table to order at opening we ordered a country fried steak with mashed potatoes, gravy and Mac n cheese, and a pimento cheese burger with fries. No drinks, only water. Our food took quite a bit of time, everything was tepid at best, the grease was old and tasted horrid, the burger was SO small (and cost $13.99) and the side of fries was 10 fries. The whole country fried steak and two sides with a mini biscuit fit on an 8” plate. It was inedible. Then the waitress comes out without a bill, tells us what our total is and stands there and waited for us to pay after I asked for a bill. She stated they don’t do that (so I couldn’t confirm what we were charged, etc), so she decided we were ready to go and watched as we decided what to tip, etc. Super Uncomfortable. Our bill for lunch was $27 before tip!
Needless to say two locals that were excited for a nice spot for lunch will never go back. So...
Read moreFood was cold, fish was not seasoned well or should I say at all. But to make things worse, when I called the manager, he was extremely rude. He was not concerned about my complaint and did not apologize initially, but rather accused me of being dishonest or somehow at fault. He proceeded to tell me that no one else had complained and that they always serve hot food. Lie # 1. Then he said that he didn't know how long it was left out before we came to pick it up. We placed the order and was told 15 or 20 minutes, and we arrived before that time and we live 4 minutes away. The food was plated cold, although he said that they never serve cold food. He told me I could drive back and he would re-warm the food! He talked over me the entire conversation, he was loud, obnoxious, and totally unprofessional. I accused him of not being concerned about customer satisfaction, and he insisted that he was, but I guess it's only for certain customers. At the end of the conversation, he finally made a ridiculously careless attempt at an apology. Lie # 2. Apologies should always come first instead of accusations, assumptions, etc. I let him know that I would never return, seeing as that I have eaten there on several occasions before today, but from our conversation, I am certain he does not care at all. I don't care how many good reviews you have or how much you make in annual sales, but if you're an establishment that doesn't value each an every customer, then you'll never be...
