Visited this local favorite for the first time while passing through the town. We stopped in for lunch. The special of the day was a BBQ sandwich served with slaw, a dill pickle spear, a bag of chips, and a drink. I chose the hibiscus tea... absolutely delicious! The BBQ was pretty good too. Not a whole lot of fat like a lot of places serve. The slaw was not too sweet and not to tangy, but the serving size could have been larger. Overall, the food was good, but the price was a little steep...$28 for two specials. With that said, the atmosphere was great and the staff was super friendly, something that goes a long way in my book! There were a lot of wares for sale, like hot pickled okra and pickled eggs...good ole' southern country stuff everywhere that seems to be getting rarer and rater to find. They were under staffed but the older gentleman took care of me and handled cooking and serving food. Lots of hand made things to buy. Food, jams and jellies, soaps and lotions.
