The cultural center is a place where residents of Greensboro and visitors can not only explore the arts but also the culture of Greensboro. There are many associations that take root in the Cultural center, including but not limited to the African American Heritage, Art Quest and Art Alliance. The space has many works of Greensboro citizens put up, including works from community competitions, full artists' exhibits and Art Alliance student works. Art Quest is a program for young children can experiment with all forms of art including weaving, braiding, painting, sculpting and acting. It is a helpful space for all children, to help develop creativity at a young age. Art Alliance provides classes, a space and materials to either students or adults to aid in their artistic pursuits. There are 2 theatres (The Hyers, a black box theatre, and the Van Dyke Performance space), a number of classrooms for music classes, a pottery area with wheels and kilns, dance studios that include a barre and mirrors for practice work, meeting spaces for most any citizens or local groups.
