We went to visit the museum for research for Annie Oakley. My daughter was doing a wax museum project on Annie. The Annie Oakley exhibit is absolutely incredible. They have so much information and neat items that Annie owned. They also had a huge exhibit for the military, it was so interesting. They had several other exhibit type areas with so much to look at. It had a ton of items and information from back in the pioneer days also. I highly recommend going and checking it out. It was only an hour from Muncie to Garst. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. It was a very nice place. I want to return again soon. It’s very nice and clean as well.

What a Gem! Large groups call ahead to get a discount. You can enter from the front of the house or around the side where the handicap access is. No real advantage to either way. Don't be fooled from the outside. This museum is MUCH bigger than it looks. It's more than just Annie Oakley. This had a ton of the area history. It has been done so well. The bookstore is also a bargin. Places such as this are often money pits but the prices on the books were no more than 50 cents above Amazon. I checked! You will not be disappointed! Visit. Did I mention...visit!!!! This museum has been done so well. You won't be disappointed.

Museum has many wings that incorporate the past, Annie Oakley and more current aspects of the local area. Great place for military uniform enthusiasts. Also has display of girl scout and boy scout uniforms and manuals I managed to get through the museum in two hours. With a group it will take longer. Expect to spend 3-4 hours to fully take in the descriptions.

When we arrived we were greeted right away. The staff was very informative with people throughout the museum to answer our questions and offer historical facts about the area and the items in the museum. The map they gave us was helpful in making sure we did not miss any rooms.

This museum is big separated into rooms. Each room displayed something different from stagecoaches to Annie Oakley items.

We found going up the stairs to the military section to be as steep as the guide had told us. There are many uniforms and other displays this this section.

We learned about Lowe Thomas another famous person from Darke county.

The genealogy center is located in the museum. I found the staff very eager to help with research. I was surprised at the amount of other Ohio counties information available here.

I especially enjoyed all the descriptions and stories displayed with all the items.

It took us several hours to go through this wonderful place and parking is right outside the musuem. Multiple handicap spots with a ramp to enter the museum.

There are restrooms but no food is available. There is a...

Interesting museum. Some of it (the Lowell Thomas wing) was closed during my visit due to tornado damage from a few weeks earlier. Thankfully most of the museum was intact. The Annie Oakley exhibit was pretty good with interesting artifacts and details about her life and career. There was a section with military uniforms and boy and girl scout uniforms. The last section had various equipment, products, businesses and vehicles associated with the area. I particularly liked the vintage sprint car driven by many well known drivers including Parnelli Jones who had passed away just a few days before my visit. The one thing that would make the museum better would be guided tours which did not appear to be available during my visit. It was a nice hour to spend and learn...

We were greeted right away and given a map of the musuem. St the same time we were given an overview of what we could expect to see. This was very helpful. The museum has a broad didplay of America, military uniforms, Annie Oakley items, Lowe Thomas section, Indian artifacts. Each room was well marked with information provided about each display..

There were volunteers there that were very helpful and informative. I found the stairs up to the military rooms to be sterp but walkable.

I also visited the genealogy research center within the museum. The staff was very helpful and ready to assist as needed. They have information on many of Ohio counties.

We spent about 3 hours exploring the museum. This is a great place to learn about...
