I have purchased two Jeep Cherokee's Limited in the last nine months from this dealership. The first was a gift for my wife and the second because it was time to replace my vehicle. Unfortunately the first experience was not a good one. The order was mis-handled. The vehicle was ordered from the factory, the vehicle shipped on time, but did not come with the options we were told it was going to have. To make a long story short the matter was brought up to the dealership manager, Anthony who immediately took control of the purchase. He apologized and within hours found us the vehicle we had been promised. He and two of his colleagues (Chrstina Granchelli & Ed Delmonte) were also instrumental with correcting the problem. We were treated very fairly and recovery was quick. Mistakes happen, what is most important to me as a consumer is how quickly will a business recover and correct it. Thank you Anthony, Christina and Eddie.
My second purchase was smooth and handled by Ed Delmonte. Due to one of our storms I needed to pick up the vehicle a day early. Ed on his day off made that happen. I do appreciate the accommodation.
A couple of things I would like to point out in the spirit of continuous improvement. First, when shopping on line the "CHAT NOW" floating box where Linda introduces herself is most annoying! No matter what you do you cannot make that dialogue box go away for more than a few seconds. It hampers the shopping experience.
Secondly, when I purchased my wife's Cherokee Limited the security shade in the back came with the vehicle. When I bought mine I took it for granted that it came with it as the two vehicles are almost identical in trim packages. The shade is optional. It's small things like this that become annoying. If the manufacturer is going to take a price increase so be it. But not a hidden price increase like this.
Lastly, now that the sales are finalized the most important thing to me is the service area. I had to break open the piggy-bank to buy two trucks. My expectation is each will last a minimum of 200,000 miles each. My moto is: buy quality, take care of your possession, and it will take care of you. I hope my experience with the service department and longevity of each vehicle meets my expectations.
Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSadly my current experience with the service department on Harvard Ave in Stamford CT has been sub par. Itās virtually impossible to connect to anyone. Iāve left several messages that go unanswered. On the rare occasion I am able to speak to a live person they say they will have the manager Peter contact me. Has yet to happen. I was just looking for the status of my vehicle that was towed in on 12-26 AM. I finally connected with Peter at 6Pm last nite 12- 27 via a rep through Toyota City. I have no idea how my call was rerouted to her, but she stayed on the line until Peter picked up. I asked him status and he said itās being diagnosed. I said it was being diagnosed at 2pm when I spoke to Gabby. He said it could take up to 4 days. I gasped and said if all diagnosis took that long youād be backlogged for years. I received a call at 10am this morning from Luis stating a module needs to be ordered and once that comes in hopefully around 3 today he could let me know if anything else is wrong. I asked for a loaner car as now Iāll be going on 3 days he said none are available. He said his manager Peter will call to discuss further. Iām certainly not holding my breath. I understand that these things take time BUT I would have appreciated some form of communication even if it was to say we are working on it. The website and audio message claims transparency is important to them; I had a good laugh as clearly they gave no understanding of what transparency is. I believe Iām being discriminated against because I am a female, and have little knowledge about whatās happening, and unfortunately Iām at their mercy. My family and I have purchased many vehicles through the Greenwich dealership, but if I have to continue using their service department in Stamford, we will take our business elsewhere. Iāve contacted Jeep HQ as well to complain about the service Iāve been given. Perhaps in the future JDCR should really try and be more authentic towards their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped by to test drive and purchase the new cherokee. Right off the bat I felt like turning around and walking out as the Sales people had no idea what deals they have on the website. They were advertising a cherokee 4x4 for 25K brand new; Only I was looked at as if I made the whole thing up. They looked at the website and said oh yea, I guess you are right, here is the deal right here - but we don't have that one. They had me test drive one that they had on the lot and I was told they could get the one adverstised from another dealer had I liked it enough. So I got back and said let's go for it. After all I had filled out the pre-assessment for my car online with came out to a low of 6800 and a high at 7800 and I submitted it in fair condition - which it is actually in really good condition.. So they had a look and said KBB was 2000 for my vehicle. I have had other dealers give me quotes above 7K. So my guess is that the whole online deal is a huge gimmick and they did not want to get another vehicle from another lot. Essentially this was a big waste of my time and I walked away feeling pretty insulted. But I am glad I am smart enough to not get ripped off!
History repeats itself......
This place is close to where I work, so 3 years later I decide to give it another go. I test drove a used cheeroke with some major transmission issues. I ask the guy how much does the new ones start at? "I could get you into one at about 30K" - Maybe slightly less with incentives. I walk through the showroom and right in the middle of the floor is a jeep advertised as 25K on the windshield. LOL this place is unreal I am thinking. Just for the hell of it I price my trade, this time being a 3 year old car with every option, KBB is 22,000 with all things considered......BOOOM 15K is the most they will offer. Just like the time before they were about 5K off on the bid and again 3 years later ditto. This...
