This is a bittersweet moment as I've been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for 15 years since 2008 and have always loved the ability to hit the gym when it's convenient with my schedule at the multiple locations in the area. But todays the day where I say goodbye to 24 Hour Fitness for now because of a multitude of issues that have left me desiring more as a member. This location is a newer 24 Hour Fitness and it proved to be a welcome addition with clean new equipment and a great atmosphere when it first opened. But since the pandemic, bankruptcy filing, and restructuring subsequently after... It's been all downhill from there. Some examples that have made the cost cutting measures apparent include the reduction in operating hours... this started during the pandemic and I get the need for the reduction in operating hours because of cleaning and whatnot but most locations have still continued to operate with limited hours outside of the advertised name of "24 Hour Fitness" The second example is the downhill spiral of the cleanliness of this club. I don't want to discredit the hard working staff at this location but prior to the restructuring... the cleaning crew was sourced third party and they worked around the clock to ensure a clean gym. They were replaced by an in-house cleaning crew that works on fairly limited or inconsistent hours from what I've examined but it's apparent with the dust around the low-traffic areas, the stench that comes from the mens bathroom, the shaved human hair all around the sink, and at times empty soap dispensers... it has made it an undesirable atmosphere in regards to cleanliness. The final example is that the sauna has been down for quite some time... 3+ weeks from what I have been able to examine. And I get it... some members don't take care of the equipment, they pour liquid on the machine that can damage it. But it's the lack of communication of when they anticipate it to get fixed and back up and running. It was frustrating as a member having to hope that the sauna was back up and running or having to go to another location because their sauna was working. For those reasons, the switch to LA Fitness has been a pleasant surprise as to how a gym can and should operate. And to the wonderful staff at this location and every other 24 Hour Fitness that I've been to over the past 15 years... Thank you for all of your hard work and please don't let restructuring ruin the experience for its people!

Filthy and neglected has been my experience in the last 12 months. Straight down hill since day 1. There hasn't been a manager for months, zero cleaning service, and this place is totally abandoned by any corporate oversight. These pictures are from today, just a small example of the daily filth we work out with. You can see the grime all over the floor around the machines, literally a years worth of filth on every machine. The dumbbell rack area smells like rotten meat, trash all over the floor daily, gum stuck to the machines, etc etc A lot of us members have been taking pictures for months and we all joke about how the health department would probably shut this place down if they ever did a swab literally anywhere. Anywhoo, I've gone a year without saying anything and now I'm just tired of it. Good luck to the new manager they have on-boarding right now, dude, you got work to do.

Whatever you do, do not join this gym. Stay away.!!! I securely stored my belongings in a locker with my personal lock at approximately 4:45 PM while I was using the gym facilities. When I returned around 5:00 PM, my bag was missing. It contained my phone, all my credit and debit. Upon exiting the locker room, I realized I was not the only victim—two of us had our belongings stolen. Despite the fact that we had followed all proper procedures and had a reasonable expectation that our belongings would be safe, the manager refused to call the police, offered no assistance, and denied us access to the facility’s security footage. This incident reflects a serious failure on the part of the gym to provide a secure environment for its members and to respond appropriately in the event of theft.

UPDATE 3/6/17: Now that this gym has been open almost a year, they’ve worked out the kinks. they’ve hired more instructors and added more classes and I haven’t had a class cancelled in awhile. Changing my original review to 5 stars because I love their new Strong by Zumba class (with Cici!) and Zumba with Josephine - the best Zumba instructor in town! They also still have group classes on holidays, unlike the Gresham LA Fitness that cancels them all the time (I mean really, does Black Friday count as a holiday and reason to cancel all classes??)

I go to the gym solely to take group classes. There are great classes offered here that other gyms don't have , but there's a big problem at this location with classes being cancelled. They don't update their schedule online so you show up for class (sometimes early in the AM) and stand around waiting for 10 mins. Finally someone goes to the desk to ask what's going on and they'll say oh, class is cancelled, and they'll turn on a video workout. The videos are terrible, plus I'm not paying $45/month to workout to a video. I can do that at home for free.

Recently an instructor warned us a week in advance that she wouldn't be teaching a class because she was going on vacation. She told us to check with the gym to see if class was still going to happen. I checked with the employees every day and they kept saying I don't know, ask tomorrow. Finally they said, call us an hour before class, so I call and they say, we don't know if there's a sub or not, but we can just play a video.

I normally don't like to post negative reviews of businesses, but this has happened SEVERAL times now in the two months I've been a member and I've been to pretty much every gym in the Gresham/east Portland area and I've never had this issue. Somehow the other gyms are in better contact with their instructors or have a better computer system for scheduling, But they're always able to update the schedule online or in the app to let you know class is cancelled ahead of time. This is a common courtesy to...

I remain a member of 24 because my coworkers and family go here and is nice to work out together. If they did not go to this gym I would go somewhere else. The people in the front are too pushy and constantly want to sell you things or another membership. It’s annoying. 24 should let there members and non members try out the gym on there own and on there way out offer membership. I invited a friend to come with a free pass and we spent 30 minutes waiting for someone to help her. She had already taken preworkout so it was a waste. When they finally helped us they said she had to sign up and go over membership options before she could work out or check iut the gym . When we told her that she goes to la fitness and wants to try the gym on her own first. The lady said the free membership is only for serious members who want to go to 24 you don’t seem serious enough to go here. It was so rude! So I told her look she is serious I go to this gym and she is planning on coming here so we can work out together. It is best if she tried it on her own and I can show her around. The lady then said well does she have a credit card with her we can place on file to pay for today’s visit. This just made me really upset and my friend felt harassed because the lady was standing so close to her making a show in the entrance. My friend and I felt like she made us feel like we dint have enough money or motivation to be part of 24 which was not true! My friend went home and I felt hurt by this. Honestly I am now thinking of switching to LA fitness with my friend at the end of July. 24 you should allow new members to try on their own and don’t be pushy also you should provide feee friend Friday’s without asking for membership directly. My old gym had this and it actracted more new members who asked to sighn up on there own. I had a bad...
