Pizza is too light on toppings. If you like Hawaiian style, (for example) I recommend the 2-topping large pizza, often on special for $7.99 (if you pre-order online) and order it with "extra ham". Trust me, just pay $2 for the "extra" topping & it might look like most other pizza places' Hawaiian, and you actually get a large pizza worth $10.
Note: Their "medium" pizza is actually more like a 'small'. I am not a heavy eater, but I can eat half of a Pizza Hut's medium. (To gauge that, consider that I normally I can only handle 2 or maybe 3 slices of a large at most other places. --So long as you don't include, in that equation, a custom built slice from Flying Pie, which I can sometimes only handle 3/4 to 1 full slice, but flying Pie is in a category all on its own as super awesome Pizza.)
I often order the Tuscan Tuesday special online, where you can get a pasta dish & bread sticks for $6-7. I can get a couple meals out of that, if I pig down on the bread sticks while they are hot and eat 1/3 of pasta, leaving the other 2/3 for a light dinner or even breakfast next morning. The first time I ordered their pasta I got the chicken alfredo thinking it would be much better than the marinara with meat sauce but I was sadly mistaken. The Alfredo sauce does not taste like Alfredo at all (more like a white flour gravy with a few sprinkles of stale old grated Parmesan in it). It's fairly tasteless and the chicken has a bad texture like it is reformed parts or maybe Frozen too long before it is cooked into the pasta. So oddly enough the meaty marinara pasta is much better. It is just corkscrew pasta stirred with some sauce and then topped with cheese and baked, but it's easy (fast) & cheap.
The Pizza hut rewards program can add up fairly quickly, for those who join it, even if you only order once a month. You get 2 points for every dollar spent, and you get points whether you order in person at the store or online. Then you can let the points ride to get bigger rewards like a free large pizza with anything on it, or you can cash it in sooner with fewer points and just get a few breadsticks for free. The last I checked you get free breadsticks at 75 points, a two-topping medium Pizza at 150 points, a medium pizza of your choice at 200 points, and a large pizza of your choice at 250 points.
If you want to try something different, then get some chicken wings with a Cajun dry rub and a pasta dish using the $5 (each) deal. One of the things that I do like about the Pizza hut boneless wings are that they look and taste like real chicken pieces (not like McDonald's chicken nuggets/ reformed meat-goued parts).
If you like pizza however again my recommendation is to add extra toppings and also I recommend the toasted parmesan pizza crust (unless you are one of those who likes the cheese-stuffed crust which is an extra $2).
Some locations have bone-in wings while all locations have boneless. And fries!? Who knew that a Pizza Hut would ever sell...
Read morePizza Hut has been the establishment of choice for my family since I can remember, but the location on 181st Ave in Gresham, Oregon will now be the establishment that I choose to avoid because of the rude customer service by the manager.
When I arrived at the location to pick up my large pepperoni pizza, I asked the cashier if I could open the box to confirm that it was my order - instinct my parents taught me that paid off today. To my surprise, it looked like they piecemealed eight different slices into a whole pizza because one slice, in particular, had a significant gap between the other slices - there were also minor gaps between other slices. This was the first time I had seen a whole order of pizza like this, so I immediately wondered if anyone tampered with the food.
At this point, the cashier got the manager involved, to whom I explained the situation, and asked if they usually cut the pizza all the way through because one piece stood out. The manager immediately grabbed and violently shook the box to the point where every slice moved around as if she were mixing a bowl of salad, rudely saying that they cut the pizza - treating it as if this was the first time I ever had pizza.
Not wanting to deal with the situation anymore, I grabbed my pizza and left the building, as I was about to get into my car parked in front of the building, I could hear her ask the cashier, "Is he for real?" Having no shame, I immediately replied, "Yes, I am for real" because just like any average person, I want to know that my food has not been tampered with.
When I got home, I called the store back, hoping to speak with someone about the order to confirm if they cut the pizza the whole way through, one of the team members kindly informed me of the situation and that he would also wonder about the same. This team member also confirmed that it was the manager that I dealt with at the front door.
I will admit, I was and honestly, still thrown off about the "presentation" of the pizza but once it was kindly explained to me, I was more at ease but the fact that the manager violently shook my order and treated me like an uneducated individual is unacceptable. I hope she receives the proper training on how to address situations...
Read moreZero stars would be more appropriate for this location! Ordered pizza online at 10:31AM, said it would be delivered in 20-30 minutes so by 11. 11:16 came and still no pizza, called the store several times and the first time they picked up and I heard background voices but they immediately put me on hold so that's all I heard. I called several times after that and they would just let it ring once or twice and put that background music. At like 11:20 I called again and since they didn't answer and they didn't put me on hold, it went to Pizza hut customer service, I told them what was going on and how I had called the store but I got no answer, I just wanted to know how long the order was going to be delayed for, all she did was apologize and give me a code for a $2 discount on my order and that they would try to get the pizza to me as soon as possible 🤷 mind you I received a text saying my order was out for delivery at 10:49 and the pizza location is like 5 minutes or so away from me!! I waited another 10 minutes or so and this time called the 800 something Pizza hut customer service number and she got all the info she needed for a report, said I would get a call in 1-3 business days and since I wanted to cancel my order, she suggested I call the store again and see if they would pick up and if they didn't pick up, to call customer service again. I called the store after that, and this time they picked up! THERE'S A CATCH THOUGH! If you keep on calling them and they keep putting you on hold, CALL PRIVATE! I think that was the only reason why they actually answered my last call to cancel my order because they can't see your number and won't know if you have already placed an order or not 🤷🤷. Anyways, at 11:40ish the delivery guy finally showed up with my pizza, guess they didn't call him to let him know I had cancelled the order 🤷. Definitely never ordering from here again!! Hope DOMINOS is better at...
