I hired Hannah & Cedarville for our wedding venue before COVID hit. At the end of April, I emailed Hannah checking in, as Oregon was closing down, and gatherings of large groups were prohibited. I got no response. I then emailed her again to check in. She informed me that they were being flexible and understanding of everyone facing the hard decision to postpone their wedding day. Our original date was August 29th, 2020. In our email responses, she asked me to move my date to next summer, and I told her that we were not comfortable doing that at this time and asked for a refund of our deposit due to the circumstances of a global pandemic. She wrote to me via email, "unfortunately the only deposits that I am contractually allowed to return are those directly being affected by the state regulations. If this should continue through your wedding date, I am more than happy to refund your deposit." Go ahead, read that again - she told me in writing that they would refund my deposit. I thanked her for their flexibility and told her that I would keep in touch, to which I did. I was communicative with her during this entire process and told her that I would reach out after our wedding date then to request our deposit back, as she stated the date needed to pass with COVID restrictions still in place for them to refund our deposit. When the date passed and we were still under lockdown, I emailed her asking for our deposit refund. We needed that money, my fiancĂ© had been out of a job 9 months at that point, it was a rough year, as it has been for many of us. Hannah flat out ignored my emails. I emailed multiple times, and she ignored me. This was a regular behavior of hers since we paid our deposit, please note. I called her and left a voicemail, to which she responded with an email. She then told me that "⊠we were able and willing to host your wedding in August. I was happy to work with clients to create custom layouts to satisfy the covid regulations. If I were returning all deposits for August because we were not able to host weddings, I would have returned your deposit. The fact is that we equipped our facilities to enable us to host events throughout the pandemic. You were more than welcome to utilize those services! Which is what I offered you and all other clients, either keep their date or transfer deposit to a new date. " The reality is that itâs now the end of January 2021, COVID is still here, and Oregon cannot legally have gatherings of over 25 people. My original wedding was scheduled for 125+ people in August. I am here to tell you that she did not offer me any of that information at the time of our email exchanges prior to my wedding date- absolutely none of that was shared with me. Hannah is the most unprofessional, uncommunicative, and ill-equipped venue manager I have ever had the experience of working with, and Iâve worked with hundreds. Do not consider this place for your wedding, they do not care about anything but taking your money and will just add to the stress of your wedding planning. Please note their sister venue is Rossi Farms, donât go...
Read moreSuper cute venue and Maria Duong is a fantastic day-of wedding coordinator!
We had our daughterâs wedding here. The surrounding forest is beautiful and the photos look magical (and we donât even have the professional photos yet)! There is an outdoor bar where we had champagne before the ceremony, and full kitchen and bar inside an air conditioned, rustic lodge covered in little globes of light.
Maria helped us decide how to decorate and let us measure everything two months before the wedding.
We ended up hiring her to be the day of wedding coordinator, and I HIGHLY recommend you do the same! She worked the whole night running around to make everything perfect, so neither the bride nor I had to worry. We had unexpected rain the morning of the event, but she had a back up plan in place. We didnât need it, and she made sure all chairs were dry before we even got there. She helped decorate, and took things and packed them away for us as things were finished. She walked through the ceremony with us the day before, including teaching the bride and groom how to do an exit dip on their way out. She made sure all the transitions were smooth, that the bride and her dress looked perfect before walking down the aisle. She bustled the dress afterward. Our caterers, bartenders, and photographer already happened to be familiar with her and with the venue, so I didnât need to direct anyone at all. Super impressed, and I honestly do not know how it would have gone without her! AND, at the end of the night, she texted us photos she had taken herself during the event and they were spectacular! Above and beyond!
The sound system is great, they have cute wine barrels and little wooden tables you can use, thereâs ample parking, a dressing room, and an outdoor playground for the kids, etc. Aside from a problem with the arch we had to solve, everything...
   Read moreIt was sweltering hot!
It's a little tricky to see the gravel road, but once you get to it, there is a fairly good sized gravel parking lot by the building. There are a few outdoor areas that could be set up for picnics or outside use. The building is not super fancy on the outside, the inside is nice and rustic. The bathrooms were clean and the coolest (temperature wise) spot in the building.
Had it not been 5 - 8pm and 96 degrees, my opinion of this place might be different. There appeared to be air conditioners... that were either not turned on or were not working... So everyone was miserably hot!
Fortunately there was a bare bones playground where we could escape from the formal event to stand in a slight breeze in the shade of some tall trees while the kids played. We were also saved by the large ice machine to which we kept going back to for constant refills.
The place is conveniently located really close to the Walmart on Powells and not far away from Gresham or Portland.
There was a beautiful outdoor shaded grassy space, a few picnic tables, and the creek was in the background... It didn't seem like a place you could put your feet into and you'd need to keep your eyes on any little kids that would get too close to the tall grass, I'm not sure how deep it was. I don't know how far their property extends and due to its proximity to the Spring water corridor... We did see some homeless people tenting it on our way out down the short gravel driveway.
I was simply a guest, so I don't know how much it costs to rent... if you do decide to rent this venue... DON'T do it during peak temperatures or hot times of the day... Maybe it would be more pleasant in the late fall or winter? Being outdoors would be more superior in the heat to sitting cooped up in the...
