A great place to learn about the contribution of Maryland to the aviation world by Fairchild Aircraft Company.
Lots of aircraft to see and learn about with a majority of them original Fairchild Aircraft built in Hagerstown or other sites owned by the company.
At the time of this posting the museum does not have to date an A-10 Thunderbolt in their collection, but that could change.
The museum staff are knowledgeable in the Fairchild Aircraft Company history and the museum is very photographer friendly. Guided and non guided tours are available.
Hopefully in the future the museum will be open more than two days a week. Whether you are single or a large group I recommend a visit to this museum. Also consider volunteering, museums never turn down help if you have some free time.

The staff there are friendly and knowledgeable about the Fairchild Aircraft Company and every plane that is in this space. If they could acquire more space there would be so much more the museum could offer it’s visitors. There are guided and non- guided tours.
Great spot to stop in for a visit and learn a bit more on the aviation history. I’ve been to all of the hangers out in this area. I was here for an event and the area is...
Read moreThe Hagerstown Aviation Museum is a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours! When we visited, there were several men ready to share their extensive knowledge about all of the displays and cheerfully answer questions. The experience begins with an introduction video and Hagerstown contribution to the early part of Aviation and supporting World War II. All the aircraft inside the hangers are approachable. Including a few that can be entered. The GPS guided us to the Hagerstown airport terminal, the museum is in the hangers across the field, to the right of the terminal. Go through the stop light, turn left and go through the gate in the chain link fence. Museum entrance is the last door of...
