Mom-n-Me Food Store — Attraction in Haines City

WOW! What an amazing store for the community of mothers and families in the WIC program. I’ve been in Davenport/Haines city for a little over 7 years and only recently becoming a mother I’ve seen Mom and Me in passing but I thought they closed down until I realized they just switched locations.

Heads up for first timers like myself today, it is not a traditional set up where you can leisurely shop. They have all WIC items, produce both chilled and frozen available in store and I assume more in the back as the lady grabbed oatmeal from the back, so while the set up seems like a small selection I think they only have so much on display at once but fear not any items you don’t see they likely have.

For frequent Publix shoppers like myself.. I will say you won’t see a lot of the WIC brands that are available in their stores here (you may find a few) but there is no pressure to buy all your WIC items here, they basically go down the list, you tell them what you need and they grab it and pack it all for you! With my photos for reference all the produce I bought today was a total of $21. I would say their produce prices seems to not be much of a difference to Publix I would say the apples and oranges were reasonably priced. The Oranges along the onions were a little blemished but I will see how they hold up.

I was very happy to have the option of sliced cheese as I usually can only get the blocked cheese at Publix which I was never a fan of. Having sliced cheese will be easier for me to prep things like grilled cheeses for my little one! I got 2 packs that equal to the quantity of cheese I’m eligible for so I found this to be worth it and I will certainly come back for that!

All in all a great store! I am unsure if there are more like this but I think there should be as it’s wonderful for the community and it helps us busy moms be quick with our grocery trips! There’s less embarrassment or mishaps with major grocery stores especially when stores are constantly changing eligible items but say “WIC doesn’t approve it”. So if you want a stress free shopping experience I’d highly recommend paying a visit. Also huge bonus they helped me take my groceries to my car!! That was such a huge help, so thank you very much. I look forward to visiting...

I’m NEVER going anywhere else. I’m so thankful that I found this store. Instead of going to walmart and Publix and STRUGGLING to figure out what is acceptable to WIC, you go to this store, hand them your card. And she goes down the list of what you get with WIC and asks what you want. It’s so convenient because it takes away the stress of taking three hours in Walmart with two kids on a busy day, trying to find what is...
