We’ve been loyal fans of Swell Oyster Company for about three years now, and every visit is an absolute pleasure. Russ and Conor, the founders, met at URI and became the only aquaculture farmers in Hampton, NH — and it shows in their passion, professionalism, and care for the harbor and its pristine Atlantic waters.

We often stop in for a Shucker’s dozen or two (or four, today!) to bring home for a champagne-and-oyster taste test, and without fail, the experience is outstanding. The team — including Corbin, Benjamin, and now the newest retail addition, Connor (a recent grad whose warmth and curiosity make him a perfect fit) — is always welcoming, knowledgeable, and eager to share their love of the sea.

Each visit to the shop brings new tidbits of oyster wisdom, and we recently had the unforgettable opportunity to take a tour of their farm with Robbie as our guide. It was three hours of tide-driven discovery deep into the Hampton River (a deep river — oxymoronic and magical), where millions of oysters and scallops are cultivated. Robbie's infectious enthusiasm, environmental insight, and storytelling made it a life-changing experience.

We hired Swell Oyster to provide a raw bar at our wedding in York, Maine. They were an absolute delight to work with and exceeded our expectations in every way. They were incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with & were willing to go the extra mile to accommodate our needs.

Both the oysters and shrimp cocktail were absolutely delicious! Our guests were raving about the sheer size of the shellfish as well as the taste.

The shucker provided great service to all of our guests & was able to keep up with the high demand during cocktail hour!

Overall, we highly recommend Swell Oyster for anyone looking for a raw bar for their wedding or other event. They are a true pleasure to work with, and their food is absolutely delicious. We would definitely...

damn good oysters!

we’ve been wanting to have oysters lately and im so glad i was able to find this shack! its a small place with limited seating but the oysters are the freshest you can find! we got a dozen and got 3-4 of each for: Canada, Swell, Massachusetts and Maine. Maine and Swell would be my favorites - like the taste of clean ocean with some sweetness and texture of creamy butter..aaah so good!

I think we couldve finished another dozen more lol anyway, had a really delicious “meal” and hope we can drive by this area...
