The Bulkeley Bridge is the oldest of three highway bridges over the Connecticut River in Hartford, Connecticut. A stone arch bridge composed of nine spans, the bridge carries Interstate 84, U.S. Route 6, and U.S. Route 44 across the river, connecting Hartford to East Hartford.

The actual bridge is quite beautiful and a fascinating piece of early 20th century architecture. It's really cool going underneath one of the arches in Riverside Park and marveling at the meticulous engineering of the massive stone blocks and how tightly they fit together.
The pedestrian walkway is another story unfortunately. Loud, narrow, and covered in graffiti, and the underpasses on the Hartford side are occupied by old homeless encampments which reek of urine and feces. Very cool bridge built in the early 1900's with a ton of history that connects Hartford and East Hartford. The best way to view this bridge is from the Riverwalk along the Western bank of Connecticut River. There is are several signs marking where the height of past floods from Connecticut River.
