We recently ordered takeout from Dhabawala, an Indian restaurant that combines the charm of a traditional roadside "dhaba" with a nod to Mumbaiās legendary "dabbawalas"āthe lunchbox delivery men renowned for their six sigma precision. The interior features artwork celebrating the dabbawala system, and the name seems to blend these two concepts, though the connection isn't obviousāmaybe it's about dabbawalas delivering dhaba food? Either way, itās a quirky fusion that works in its own way. For our takeout, we chose the Samosa Chaat and Paneer Biryani, and both dishes were a pleasant surprise. The Samosa Chaat was fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of tangy chutneys, crispy samosas, and savory chickpeas. Each bite offered a delightful mix of textures and tastes. The Paneer Biryani was equally enjoyable, though quite spicyāgreat for those who enjoy a bit of heat. The spices were bold yet balanced, and the paneer was soft and well-cooked, adding richness to the dish. The portions were generous; the two of us shared the meal and were more than satisfied. Service-wise, the staff were friendly and efficient. Our order was ready promptly, and the person at the counter was courteous and helpful. Pricing was reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality of the food. Overall, Dhabawala is a fantastic option for takeout, especially if youāre craving authentic Indian flavors. While the restaurant itself is quite small and better suited for solo diners, the flavorful food and prompt service make it a worthwhile takeout destination.

I travel often for business so I have a seasoned palate for food. Yesterday, I had a taste for tomato soup. Then I stumbled across this place and ordered the butter chicken and vegetable rice entrees and a mango lassi. Even after ordering within the last hour through Grubhub of closing time, the chicken was hot and soooo tender, the vegetables and rice were fresh, and the mango lassi, that was bagged separately to separate from the hot items, remained cold and sooooo creamy! This is far the best Indian cuisine Iāve ever had! I live in Phoenix, AZ now but from Central Jersey so whenever I am in this area, Iāll be sure to try it again! I was going to order again tonight but I was too late! Thank you for such fresh ingredients! 10/10!!!! Please try this place!!!!!! Disclaimer: The food was soooo delectable that I forgot to snag a photo in the beginning. So this is whatās left :)!!!! UPDATE!!!: I ordered again and posted the pics. View them for name descriptions š Ordering right now for my 3rd time this week ā¤ļø

I was walking around Hartford looking for dinner and serendipitously discovered Dhaba Wala - which turned out to be a really nice hidden gem discovery! The atmosphere is inviting and intimate - which also makes it a really great place to go on a date. A family was inside when I arrived, so it's also family friendly. I ordered the Chicken Tikka masala, Naan bread, and a Mango Lassi (not pictured because I finished it quickly due to being so fresh!). The portion size was very good. They can also prepare the food to not be really spicy or they can make it as spicy as the heat of 1000 suns! The staff was really friendly, and it's clear they care about how they prepare and serve their food; it's clear that it's made with love and care. The price of the food was as expected for Indian Food - moderate to low - depending on food item. They take cash, credit cards, and American Express. I think you can Uber Eats as well if you'd like. I definitely recommend this place!

This was the first restaurant i had when visiting this city. I was greeted by a very friendly cashier named Ganesh. We shared a chemistry that I never experienced from a restaurant before or at least in a while. He knew exactly what I would like. My favorite meat in Indian cuisine is goat, and it truly was the āGreatest Of All Timeā. My order was the Goat Tiki Masala Medium spicy. The meat was very tender and spice was just perfect for me. Good flavor and it went well with my cheese naan. Lastly to cool off the heat I had the mango lassi, or at least Iām sure that what it was. Mango yogurt smoothie like drink. Very creamy and very refreshing. Shout out to my man Ganesh for treating me with welcoming arms, and good taste. And Iām glad I was able to take this photo before I devoured everything.

Super delicious Indian restaurant in an unsuspecting location. I got the Aloo Mutter and Roti, which are both vegan. The menu calls out vegan and gluten free options which makes choosing dishes quick and easy. The roti was delicious and the serving size was very generous. The Aloo Mutter came out piping hot, the spice level was a little less than I expected but itās better to err on the mild side at a new place. The dish was full of flavors, the potato cooked to perfection. I was only in town for a few days but this would be on my frequent rotation if I lived close! Pro tip: there is limited indoor seating so donāt count on sitting inside with more than a couple others.

The food is wayyy over priced for the portion that you receive. Also the customer service is horrible. Thereās always the same guy taking the orders & itās like he doesnāt even want you in the restaurant. This is my first time coming here. That same gentleman accused me of messing with the menu TVs. I was utterly confused onto why he was yelling at me for something that Iāve never done. Especially for it being my first in this establishment. It was so embarrassing because there were a few other customers in there. Iām assuming because of that is the reason why he made me wait 50 mins for a small order, itās was still early on in the day so it wasnāt busy.
