The venue is located on a quaint one way "through" street and is easily accessible from the major highways I-91 & I-84 with plenty of (paid) parking either up or across the street. It's clean and the staff was accommodating. We attended a "seated" concert and without question the stage is just way too high for comfortable viewing while seated. The seats were not the most comfortable either. The floor space is not graded (inclined) so if you are unfortunate enough to get seated behind a tall person you will be hard pressed to see anything and enjoy it. I'm not sure how the space is normally used but you'll most definitely end up with a sore neck if you're in the first 10 rows. I think everyone who attended would have rather been standing for the short duration. We were WAY overcharged for the type of event it was: 3 College Acapella groups performing for a combined total of 30 minutes. We were charged $25 each which was ridiculous not only because of the length of the concert but especially because for the first groups entire set of 3 songs the feedback was absolutely horrible. Nobody was sure why it wasn't checked before the performers went on but it was off puttingly unprofessional sound. I"ve never ever heard feedback like that before in any venue at all especially one that considers themselves "professional". The engineer eventually fixed it for the next group but it completely ruined the first groups whole set. To the performers credit they pushed right through it without a complaint (which they should have). Maybe the sound engineer didn't bother because it was a group of college students and/or hey just couldn't care less. Regardless it was inexcusable especially for such a high ticket price of which a portion didn't even get back to the students (?)! I can't say this will be anyone else's experience (except for the 50-75 people who attended that day) but I'd be hard pressed to visit or recommend that venue again for any type of...
Read moreWent to dozen concerts here all went well but got covid at toad the wet sprocket concert a year ago. Finally went back a month ago went OK made sure to keep mask on all times. Now I tried to get tickets to max creek after seeing them around the corner at the State house for free. But they changed the A.I. format at end when I press for final payment comes up error code in a red line, tried calling box office after 5 on night of show but just voice mail sent 2 e-mails as suggested but no response. We've all seen it A.I. forced on a person that dosent work with a wall built up so you can't get an email or phone response. Not the first venue like this had the same problem at symphony hall in Springfield but they responded promptly with a phone # to call to get a ticket. This is the reason I don't deal with ticketmaster/ live Nation. Did a ticket with vivid months in advance but no response or ticket to the event until days before I had to slog through a process I couldn't tell whether it worked or not on the web, was for tanglewood instructed it would be at the box office but they couldn't find until after...
Read moreOur 1st time here - sorry we didn't know about it sooner - it's a hidden gem as well as the best venue for live music in CT.
Easy to get to. From I95 follow signs to venue. Make sure you park at North Garage to eliminate going outside.
As soon as you check in you can buy snacks and drinks at bar from any level.
The acoustics are just amazing ; we saw The Machine here for the first time - sound so much better than at Toyota Oakdale.
We sat in Orchestra 4th row from stage on right in what I thought were isle seats but hadn't didn't realize you can only get in side rows using the center aisles. But it's easy to get to your seats even with others sitting in your row. The chairs slid back and plenty of leg room.
Seats are unusually comfortable with back and seat padding and cup holder. The bathroom and bar were in the orchestra section - each level is like that.
It only holds 500 so every seat is good.
Basically just an intimate place to hear music and have a good drink (they use Tito's vodka; also 5 beers on tap). A drink and beer cost $19...
