Mac Sensei — Attraction in Haverford Township

To hell with ‘The Genius Bar’ at The Apple Store. Finally… FINALLY!!! Finally I feel confident about having my Mac products repaired and, just as important, brought up to match both current technology and anticipated future changes.

NOTE that the owner / co founder of this modest Apple / Mac shop was THE FIRST to be certified for Mac repair in Pennsylvania. What, 30 years ago? More? They don’t advertise this. I found out from a friend of mine, a fun, kooky polymath, who was the original co founder.

He does the work with his small yet quietly brilliant staff of two. They weren’t trying to just sell me equipment and service. As I explained all the tech I was using, and how it was being used, they helped me draw content from old external hard drives and consolidate it onto one fantastic, small hard drive. And we backed that up with a second modestly priced hard drive.

They took a newish used Mac given me by a friend, and replaced the guts with rocket powered fresh innards.

NOTHING they did or sold me was expensive. It was a simple yet refreshing AND FREEING experience.

After all these years working with computers, I suddenly feel my Mac is my friend, and Mac Sensei is a friend up the street to keep this sense of harmony...

I bought a MBPro mid2015 several years ago and shortly after the purchase, I got a battery recall notice of a free replacement. I scheduled the work at Apple Suburban Square but the backlog was too long a wait. I kept using it as all was well until recently it started experiencing battery swelling. I spoke to Chris at Mac Sensei explained my issue and he said a day or two. Great! Next day, Chris calls and says he thinks I may be eligible for warranty still. Yes! Still prepared to have to pay between $200-250 for the necessary repair/replace battery. But... Apple wants to do the warranty work which means shipping to Timbuktu... What evs... Call today and it's ready. A day under the estimate Sensei gave. I would recommend and will use them again should the need arise. No pressure, no BS. Thanks, Chris and Jacob! Oh, and there was no charge to me but I felt some token payment was req'd. I know it isn't much but I wish it could've been more. 5 stars...

Went here for a replacement battery for my MacBook Pro. Jason was very nice and the replacement battery has worked great. However, when I went to pick it up, he said “I noticed your E key is broken?” to which I responded it wasn’t broken when I brought it in and asked if they could fix it. He said there was nothing they could do to fix it and “it probably was already broken you just didn’t realize.” It most definitely wasn’t broken before I brought it to them, and ever since, the E key is constantly becoming stuck or falling off while I type (never had this issue before with the E key or any other.)
