All glass - nothing worthing saving. Yes, that’s the verdict. So why 5 stars? - the whole beach is glass - tiny fragments, but at least 50% glass. Will you find pieces worthy of your collection - probably not. This is a place to see - not harvest. If you want good glass to take home... look elsewhere - really. The beach itself is amazing because of all the glass, but there’s no great glass to take home here. But the ‘sand’ is tiny glass ground by waves to a fine sand, and if you can’t appreciate that - then skip this beach. Look on a map, there’s glass on nearby beaches, but the people looking for easy pickin are going to be sad. But if you’re looking to see something you’ve never seen - this beach is amazing. Want to take some glass home? You’ll have better luck and bigger pieces just west ... be curious, creative, and willing to go and you’ll find pieces you’ve never imagined, just not on this beach. All brown, green, and white and nothing larger than a quarter.

A small and somewhat secluded beach nestled in behind the Port Allen power generation facility. The beach is a mix of volcanic sand and beach glass. Chunks of range from sand grain to the width of a quarter. You have clear glass, blue glass, green glass and brown glass mixed in. Be careful because the glass can still have a little edge to it. While this is cool to have a beach comprised of sea glass, it is sad that there is this much pollution in the ocean. Even though that sucks and yoy may think you're helping by taking some glass with you, leave the glass on the beach. Of note, as you are behind the power generation facility, sometimes you will get a whiff of what's going on at the facility. It smells like Hammond, Indiana at times. If you go here, respect the aina. Pack your trash out, leave the glass and be respectful please.

This review, on it's face, is not what it seems. Read on dear fellow meat-bag jockey, read on. Of all the beaches on Kauai this is the one that offers stiff, long lasting, undiluted Kauaian flavor. Pharma-Brohs and Insta-H0es need not apply, and thank Chripes. I'd wager 98% of the village luddites that can afford to vacation on Kauai, can't sustain more than a tenner on this beach. Which makes it a haven away from the godless heathen hords that frequently travel to this island. Don't come to the "Glass Beach" without an adventurer's spirit, as you can't find the true glass these days without traveling. Second... - the glass directly on "glass beach" is gone, done buried and harvested years ago. You must grasp your black pearls and travel on, to find buried treasure. This is a legit Kauai goldmine of an experience. If visiting Kauai with a prospective fiance, bring them to this beach for an afternoon of exploration. There are hidden spots be"on"d this beach unlike anywhere else on the island. Spots that can't be seen or heard from the cliffs above. Hidden crevasses, and 🍩 beneath the beautiful blue 🌊, if you take the time to find them... Tide-pools formed with trash of old, and engine blocks galore, I'm told. If you find my words to be too crip-tique, look south east to the long line boys, you'll see. Follow the tetanus trail to splendor, bring good footwear if you endeavor. If you find this trashy gold mine I describe, and your prospective to-be wedded lover swears diatribe, then good news I have in-store for you. You've dodged not just one bullet, but two. Because as you age throughout the years, you see idyllic visions of one's life, recede. You come to find that pricy taste, makes waste like a trashy, man-made beach, at sea. Cheaper cuts is where true flavor lies, and I highly suggest you live your life; interested in this grand curiosity of how time takes us all from living, to sea. 10/10, would tetanus again. For a fun drinking game, take a shot every time you find an engine block. Enjoy the trip,

This beach was neat to experience but don't feel like you're missing out if you can't make it. Most of the glass is very small, more like coarse sand size, but it is pretty when you hold it up to look closely. Be sure to wear shoes here, there is tons of fresh/sharp broken glass around, it's not all beach glass. It seems like an area people use to party as there are broken bottles and trash strewn about, it's not a nice beach to swim or sunbathe. The coolest part to me was that the tide was low enough we could walk on the rocks out toward the right-hand side of the beach and there in the side of the cliff face was a lovely coral display where people had taken washed up pieces of coral and placed them in the nooks and crannies of the cliff face. It doesn't look like much in the photo but I thought it was pretty and enjoyed seeing the corals others had picked to display. I had fun choosing my own piece to add to the display. The area is very industrial as others have mentioned and I wouldn't leave a vehicle unattended for very long. Careful going out on the rocks on the left-hand side of the beach, there is a lot of rusting metal embedded in and jutting out of the rocks from dumped vehicles.

As others have said it’s pretty depressing watching tourists hoard the glass to take home with them. The beach hardly has any glass left now and wasn’t worth visiting. If you go you’ll see tourists scrounging for the very tiny pieces of glass that are left to fill their McDonald’s cups with. The only reason I would recommend this beach is if you are an intellectual and enjoy watching a natural social experiment on the entitlement and greed of some of humanity. It was interesting how some people would try to secretly fill their pockets while looking over their shoulder while others blatantly collected despite the signs posted all over by locals begging people to respect the area and not take from it. Time to change the name of this place from “Glass Beach” to something else.

We really enjoyed this little beach! The sea glass pieces are small, but fairly abundant. There is one sign that we saw in a tree that is a bit weathered telling people not to take the sea glass (obviously it won't be a sea glass beach anymore if people always take some home!), but sadly, we saw a few people collecting in Ziploc baggies. We had fun picking through the glass and finding interesting shapes and colors, but we left it behind when we were done. There was also a lot of deep black sand, which made for a pretty contrast against the colorful sea glass! The beach was small and secluded, and you have to drive through an industrial area to get there, but it was perfect for me, my mom and my two little girls! (Pictures are from today!)
