We met Bret and Janice, the proprietors, while out one night. They told us about their brewery and we had to try. It did not disappoint! Chef Noah commands the kitchen. We started off with his habanero-apricot margarita alongside a pair of beer flights. All spot on. Next were apps which all were great. Standouts were the green papaya salad and poke. Three great pizzas rounded out dinner. Chef Noah came out and told us about them and they were great. Tangy, malty, chewy crusts and well topped. Chef had even told us about the sausage he had handmade the day before for one of our pizzas. We’re Brooklyn folks to the core, so pizza praise is something we dole out parsimoniously, but kudos are due here. On a related note, it’s one thing to try a restaurant’s food and judge it on its own. It’s another thing altogether to meet the people behind a place and meet the people making your food, and hear about their passions. Couldn’t give higher marks on this point. Enjoy the food and brews because we certainly did!

Went yesterday to have a little time out of the house. Despite the reviews that state bad service, my service was fantastic. It was my first time at Kauai Island Brewery and Grill. Jersey was my waitress and absolutely amazing. Probably the BEST server I've had. Ever. We had a Mai Tai, and Lilikoi beer. Very smooth, almost like butter. The food was fantastic, coming from Arizona and Mexico I didnt expect much out of the tacos but they were delicious. I also ordered the wings that were on special, tender and juicy. The burger? Medium rare. Juicy just how I like it and asked for. My boyfriend got the spicy Ahi Bowl. It was the FRESHEST fish ever. Amazing. We ended up getting an extra side of fries. The Mustard? I'm not a fan of mustard in general but this? This was different. Wasn't too spicy but definitely not bland. Makes a perfect dip for fries and tastes great for burgers. Buying one for home soon. So much flavor in everything. Will be coming again soon.

I got the fish tacos and they were passable. The cut was weird—it was like fish logs instead of pieces or chunks. It also tasted like river fish. They said it was mahi mahi but… I wasn’t confident in that. Not terrible. However, the service was awful. My water glass went empty as two different servers came by and topped off everyone else’s glasses except mine. That was strange. It also seemed like they forgot to enter one of the keiki orders from our group, and the poor kid had to wait another ten minutes for her food while ours went cold. The server took forever to bring our check when we were finished too. Also, some other guy on staff walked by our table and loudly said “wow, all those people are waiting??” to… well, I’m not sure, because there were no other employees around. It seemed like he was passive aggressively letting us know we should hurry up? (We would’ve been faster if our orders came out together.) I was really surprised that in such a touristy area the service was so bad. It’s possible that the staff was having a bad day. The woman who I would guess was the manager was really on edge. I would give this place another shot if someone I’m with wanted to go, but my first experience was not good.

Wanted to stop by here for a quick beer before moving on to our next destination. An open air brewery/bar/pub stocked with liquor. Lots of locals here which is great. Don't know if the open air is good for our beer though. The beers didn't stay cold for long or we didn't drink fast enough haha. My wife ordered The Fonz IPaaaaaaaaaa (6.2%). I opted for the Cane Fire Red ale (6.3%). These two beers were more on the hoppy side. Gotta drink em fast. The beers got to room temp quick and became a little harder to drink due to the hoppy-ness. There are happy hours 330-530pm everyday with $.75 chicken wings, small appetizers and some alcohol specials. Chicken wings were meaty but the sauces were just the average BBQ and Buffalo. Other patrons food looked great though. Due to it being happy hour, service was lacking a bit or it could be because we're in Kaua'i and things do move slower here. In either case there was a big group seated right before us and I'll chop it up to that. This is definitely the local watering hole with sprinkles of mainlanders (like myself) dropping in. If you're in the area I suggest you give them a try. Cheers!

Service was horrendous. Don’t waste time here with angry unhappy service people. We are a big family and we’re waiting on the deck as one hostess went to confirm a table, another hostel came out and chased us “back to the street” to wait. Mind you, it was empty in the restaurant, it didn’t feel inviting and yes there is a hospitable manner of saying that especially when you see a big group who you know will get automatically hit with 20% gratuity which we are fine with but hell no. So with our children we scurried back to the steps and street as she continued to “shoo” us out of the restaurant to wait. We left and went across the street to Sunset bar and grill and spent hundreds with very welcoming lovely amazing island service. Your hostel here could learn a thing or two from them. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Second best brewery on the island. Parking is angle parking in the front of an industrial looking building, across from a bunch of catamaran tour store fronts. There is some shopping available across the street. They have a solid lineup of beers available on tap, none of which are they great, but I do have high standards for beer. The restaurant is open air but not too warm. They have a typical food menu. The nachos were very well constructed. The fish n chips and fried fish sandwich (as pictured) were nothing exceptional. Their fries are some of the best we've had however. They were doing construction (as of Nov '19) on the front outside which looks like they're building a deck which will be a nice addition.
