BEWARE I purchased a single class worth $29, on February 2, 2020. I scheduled a class to attend on Feb11, but could not go due to personal reasons. In March Covid was becoming more apparent here in the United States and on March 11, it was declared a pandemic by the world health organization. On March 13, A national emergency was declared in the United States concerning the COVID-19 outbreak. The last thing on my mind was the $29 that I had with club Pilates that I still had not used. Obviously months have passed since then. I got a courtesy call asking if I would like to use my $29 credit for a class to do in person or online and I chose not to do either one for personal reasons. I asked if I can get a refund. I was told that, that was not an option and that I was GIVEN a courtesy call when indeed my one time class of $29 had expired because of the policy that says it expires in a month. (What company in their right mind expires in a month) I had only 2 options if I chose. I feel like I am being forced to use my $29 with this company to get my moneys worth because they do not want to refund my money. Today we got a phone call from the owner Craig Leighton to help resolve this and it was a waste of time very unprofessional and rude. After we allowed him to speak, because he went first then he asked to hear our story, that right there shows his level of professionalism. Rather than first hearing us he went on to tell us his story and policy. Anyway, after we explained that we have changed our minds and were no longer interested in using, he said that getting a refund was not an option. He cut us off twice as we were trying to explain and was unwilling to listen. I asked him if we had called back sometime in February to cancel within our 30 days would we have gotten a refund and he told me no. My point is, this company is so insecure about their service that they hold you hostage to a 30 day window and after that you have zero options but also if for any reason life happens within those 30 days you’re out of luck because they’re not willing to do the right thing. I would not recommend this place. $29 is not much to cry over it’s the principle of them not doing the...
Read moreI recently attended the intro class at Club Pilates in Helotes on June 21, and while the class itself was excellent, the overall experience left much to be desired, particularly in how the sales team handles communication and customer interaction.
Leading up to the class, I received seven phone calls between June 10 and June 21. I confirmed my attendance and answered all their intake questions over the phone on June 17. Despite this, I received yet another call two days later claiming my spot was not confirmed and I needed to call them. When I clarified that I had, in fact, already spoken with someone and even showed proof via text, I was met with a condescending tone; not exactly the kind of welcome that inspires confidence or comfort. The excessive phone calls were EXTREMELY off-putting and nearly caused me to cancel my intro class altogether.
Now, for the positive: the class itself was fantastic. Erica, the instructor, was knowledgeable, supportive, and offered modifications throughout the 30-minute session. If I could rate just the workout and Erica, I’d give 5 stars without hesitation.
Unfortunately, the experience soured again immediately afterward. After class, the sales team divided participants into small groups and kept us for another 30 minutes to go over pricing and memberships. The tone from the sales associate I spoke with (likely the same one I texted with a few days prior) was dismissive and patronizing. Not only are the prices not listed online, but you’re required to commit to a 3-month package upfront plus pay a “club fee.” Despite claims of open availability, the app showed that most classes were booked a week and a half out; unless, of course, you’re willing to pay more for “priority booking.”
Bottom line: The workout was well-structured and professionally led. But the aggressive sales tactics and poor communication from the front desk staff detract heavily from the experience. I hope the studio takes this feedback and the feedback from other reviews seriously—less pressure, more professionalism, and a lot less phone calls would...
Read moreI signed up for a demo class about 10 days in advance and unfortunately, that triggered a barrage of communication, in other words multiple calls and texts that felt excessive and borderline intrusive. They requested a credit card on file which seemed unnecessary for a free class, if they want to charge a small fee up front to avoid no shows they should just do that. They could have done one call to explain details after sign up and then sent a reminder text to have confirmation of attendance the day before class which would have eliminated the stalking feel.
The class itself was excellent although challenging for a total newbie. It was a solid 30-minute workout that gave a nice intro to the equipment and the variety of full-body exercises available. The instructor was knowledgeable and supportive, offering guidance on form and technique with some modifications if needed. At this location parking could be less than convenient at peak times.
Plan for the intro experience to take a full hour. After the workout, they break participants into small groups for a very sales-heavy pitch. No pricing or policies are on the website and asking for any hard copies was met with a curt reply of “we’re giving it to you verbally now” which wasn't a great vibe.
Class availability seems limited as most beginner classes appear to be booked per the app for more than week and a half out, especially during evening times. I was told that once you sign up they’ll help fit you into classes, but that feels unclear and possibly misleading. The clock on membership starts at sign up so if you choose a package with a set number of classes per month, the 7-10 day booking window could make it hard to use all your classes before they expire. Good to try out but be aware of hard sales push and enrollment fee add-on to 3 month...
