The only reason I give them any stars is because the people there are truly trying to do their job and while it may not be their fault they tried to help. The billing has been a complete rip off in my experience with planet fitness. I put my membership on hold because I was told I couldn't cancel it, and when the freeze was over, they hit my account for not only the monthly fee, but the annual fee and a late fee on both fees even though I sent proof that I put a freeze on the account they still racked up the charges. And conveniently charged that annual fee as soon as the freeze was lifted and of course now they will not refund it. I have filed something with my bank and I will get my money back within 90 days but please DO NOT sign up for any of this online. They hide behind "read the fine print" and in all those many things you click on, they get away with doing this. Edit... if you are the owner of this company, then call me like I asked you to in the email that I did send with the information. You all have lied and covered up whst was done on your end. I canceled this account, you froze it. You send documents staying I froze it, then say I never paid for it. But it was frozen? Your own document states when you froze the account. And when that was sent to you in the email I did send you, you then state it was an annual fee that miraculously comes up and you charged double that fee? Frozen means its frozen it doesn't accumulate those late fees but for you that means you can just rapid fire hit my account several times a day and take out whatever you wanted. That is wrong. I did not sign anything ever... not in your store nor online that says you may take whatever you want, whenever you want from my account. No one I know would ever do this. You are a horrible company. I’ve been going to the hemet planet fitness since 2020, never had a problem with any other staff member besides her. While entering and scanning in she stopped me to ask me for my updated debit card information. My account balance is $0.00 since my bank account is linked and they take my monthly payment directly from my account. I informed her that I don’t have my debit card with me but my account is paid and I’ll update it later, as in later in the day. She wouldn’t let me continue unless I give her an exact time. Then she stopped my parents, my mom has the black card where she can bring a guest, that guest is always my dad. She also wouldn’t let them enter. We asked to speak to a manager but she said he wasn’t available until Monday and continued with her attitude. She ended up calling her manager to tell him her side of the story and was speaking very poorly of us to victimize herself, she specifically told him that we “lost it” when it was her that lost it. We asked if we could speak to him also and she said no, she stated that she notated somewhere in our account about the incident, when I asked if I could have his number or if she can notate to give me a call, she wouldn’t. When I asked for the planet fitness number she told me I can google it and wouldn’t give it to me. In the end, she was very unprofessional, disrespectful and has very bad customer service skills. Read moreI joined this location around October of last year. I entered my bank account info for the recurring payment and it was sent back saying there was an error. I assumed I entered the numbers wrong so I tried again being very careful to enter the numbers correctly. It still would not go through.
I went in to speak with someone and I was told by an employee that sometimes their system just doesn't work well with credit unions. So I could just pay with my debit card every month. But of course I have to do it after the payment fails to go through with my bank every month. Usually the app sends me notice right away but this time I didn't get the notification until after I was charged a late fee.
I called the gym and was told they don't have issues with my bank and I just must not be entering the numbers right. I told them I've reentered the numbers several times. They said I could go down to my bank and bring them verification of my account and I could get a free month. I'm sorry but if I have to go through that many hoops simply to pay for my membership it's just not worth it .
I asked to be reimbursed for my late fee and then to cancel my membership. They said since I was already charged I couldn't be reimbursed which makes no sense because that is literally the definition of a reimbursement. They also were going to make me come in person to just simply cancel my membership until I pushed and they "so nicely" let me cancel over the phone.
