Hermosa Beach is located between Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach. We parked over by 2nd St and Hermosa Ave close to Mickey’s Deli.
Tons of metered street parking if you’re lucky. We were able to park at a 24 hour meter and it cost us $10 for 5 hours. You can pay with a card at the meter or pay on the app @ParkMobile. I love paying via app so you can add extra time as needed without having to walk back to the car to pay the actual meter.
It’s an easy walk to the beach as there are plenty of sidewalk areas and also a boardwalk with walkers, runners and bikers. Be careful when you cross the boardwalk as traffic can get crazy with the bicyclists or e-Bikes.
The outdoor restrooms, which also look like elevated port-o-potties are located by 2nd street beach entrance. They have a sink area to wash your hands too.
There’s a nice pathway on the actual sand up to a certain point, for easier transporting of strollers and wagons. Then you’re on your own once you hit the sand. Hermosa Beach is a nice and somewhat quiet beach which is usually busy on the weekends. For obvious reasons since everyone has the same idea! Nice beach with walking access to tons of bars and restaurants. We love Micky’s Deli for sandwiches...
Read moreI heard so many thing about the other beaches that made me nervous so I came to Hermosa Beach. It was pretty clean. I just didn’t see a restroom near by for those with weak bladders. 😂 I don’t contaminate the waters. I’m always afraid of a little simmer entering my canals. 😂
The parking wars was crazy. I mis parked in timed or loading zones twice. 🤦🏽♀️ I guess I was too eager to BEACH! Once I did find a spot I took the walk to set up. The sand was pretty clean. I’m still not sure if I saw a lifeguard or not but did see a Medivac helicopter 🚁 so I felt safe enough to go into the waters. Ofc my visual of being saved if I had an issue was a bit dramatic but still good to know someone is patrolling. This beach was def cleaner than the other two beaches...
Read moreBeautiful beach! Water is blue and though there is not enough flat shoreline for my girls to play safely in the water they still had fun! While we were grabbing water from the ocean to the beach for the girl to play with their toys we catch some sea lice!! Fun to watch before we release them back! The lifeguard was there and he was doing his job at keeping people safe too! Alerting us to be safe as there was currently a ripped current and the water was pulling more than usual which we could see! There was still lots of people but not crowded there all for the same reasons as us! Relax and have fun! I couldn't see any beach parking here we had to find a parking on the street and pay per hour fee which was not bad!! Overall great beach! Sorry no...
