I told Anna this is where I wanted to go and she snickered. I was excited to check it out so we did. I do so love history and come from Tampa bay where Hernando Desoto started his horrific quest. We were impressed with this museum it's historic artifacts and the staff member Robert was more than knowledgeable and so very friendly. We could not have a better day and especially considering this is a county museum in rural Mississippi. They have many rooms true to historic time period and an archive research room. Read moreThe museum is really good. However, the person who narrates is quite prejudiced. Not very much attention to native American and African American history. For some reason they have a lot of holocaust history, which is not at all related to DeSoto county. However it was a great work on holocaust history, which I liked. Only the connection to the locality seemed off.

The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The museum is not large but has several interesting exhibits.
