I love this gym, I really do. The employees are all so kind and helpful I have never had any issues with them. I love how they are constantly trying to improve and add machines to meet members needs. I have one and only huge complaint though. I have had a membership in almost every single gym in this area before. I have never seen such a bizarre rule, which btw was never there till the most recent past several months. Having a sauna at the gym Iām using Is the biggest determining factor of Mine. Itās hard to find motivation to go to the gym but the one thing I look forward to Is sitting in a sauna with my music and finally relaxing after a long day. Sometimes this is all I look forward to because itās so peaceful for me. Iāve never been unable to Bring my phone into the sauna⦠however apparently there was some incident with somebody being accused of recording in there? Iām not sure this is just what I heard. Anyways I am Mindful not to take any pictures or videos in there even of myself. I usually also tuck my phone away and I donāt even use it besides to change the song Iām playing. Anyways I have been HARASSED by older women who decide to have their entire bush out in the open. I have tried to respectfully speak to them and tell them I am not interested in recording you I am Just listening to My music. They have still continued to be rude. My thing is right, if you choose to be naked in a public space, you risk that exposure. If you are uncomfortable with the 1% chance some weirdo would want a video of your saggy goods, then donāt have everything out for show. I have NEVER heard of a gym with this rule and if they decided to Make this a rule they should ALSO provide locks for the locker room built in. Iām Sorry but if I donāt have a lock or Forgot it one day cause Iām coming straight from work, I am NOT leaving my phone outside somewhere. I have legit never gone to a gym where people make having your phone in the sauna into a crime. This is my meditation in my day and itās disheartening to deal with cranky Karenās in there.
UPDATE: AS OF 3/12/24: THEY HAVE NOW ADDED A NUDE REQUIRMENT FOR THE SAUNA. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED ANY CLOTHING, OR UNDERGARMENTS IN THE SAUNA. they require you to SHOWER at their facility and take off all your clothes. First of all, im muslim, I am NOT comfortable striping naked. female or not, that is WEIRD. this is a family GYM. men have accidentally walked into the locker rooms all the time. this has added an extra unnecessary amount of inconvenience for me. This is not only non-inclusive towards Muslims in the month of Ramadan too where we especially practice modesty, but it just flat out weird. I do not know a single family gym that does this and this has led me to want to switch gyms. they did not consider my review, infact tightened up sauna regulations, which was my #1 concern with what gym i ultimately joined to begin with. we should be able to listen to our music after a workout in the sauna, fully clothed. I have taken this to social media and placed a poll on the public opinion and 98% of people in the area also agree that this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am not a complainer at all, do not like to leave bad reviews and do it very rarely!!! However I want to share my experienceā¦. My husband and I joined this facility 2 months ago, we have decided to give it a chance. We have had a tour, from far we like the place and got a membership quickly. However, after a few times coming in, my husband realized that equipment was not located in a smart way to use it, not by grouping how it must be!!!! I am as a woman saw how dirty facility is and old, it requires a lot of remodeling and updates. As an example, starting from shower heads, which most of them have very low water pressure, and they are installed extremely low, I am 5.7 and I needed to band my knees to wash my head, and this is during my pregnancy and being an average person which is not really tallā¦. Who saw tall people, will understand what I am talking about!!! The cleaning lady was talking more during her working hours than cleaning ā¦. The ceiling fans have so much dust on it, even at a few places it was hanging thereā¦. disgusting, locking spaces never were wiped inside, I have been using one of them all the time, just to check if it will be ever touched⦠and here it is, NEVER!!!! The steam sauna was suddenly turned off/did not work at all without any notification, when I asked, no one knew what it is going on or they just apologized ā¦. AND one more thing, - important one, I have never seen in all my life a facility where people do not respect rules on such high level. Let me explain, in the pool where it says you have to be in swimming clothes, I saw people in right the same clothes after the workout, I saw people in polo shirts and regular shorts, how others supposed to know that man did not come in his working clothes right to the pool. I saw Indian women in dresses in a pool, I understand culture and respect it, however everything must be in time and in appropriate place!!!! I saw in the women area they have been in underwearā¦. Disappointment!!!! And probably I would remember something elseā¦. But I will stop at this point⦠think wisely and make your own decision!! About people who complained that they did not have a tour and do not have a membership now, listen, think from this perspective - you are lucky, everything happens for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecent facilities with a wide selection of equipment. Poor customer service. Don't expect this company to reward long-term loyalty to the brand.
We've been members here for over 10 years and have been routinely pleased with the gym and the local staff. However, their customer service at the corporate level has proven to been inflexible and apparently focused on income over customer experience.
In the decade we've been here there's been one significant upgrade to the facility (which was well done). That said, the locker room and shower facility is woeful in appearance and upkeep. It's not the grossest shower I've been in, but I've showered in some gross places (so that's not saying a lot).
What really lets this brand down is the customer service. We've literally raised a child here (the childcare facilities are excellent!) and stayed loyal Sport and Health customers for many years. However, you should take note of some fine print prior to ending your contract with this company.
The contract obligates the customer to provide a 35 day notice prior to terminating your contract. We missed that window by 6 days (mistakenly thinking a month notice was sufficient). As a result, we're paying an extra month of membership dues. When we asked for a waiver (or even a reduction in the dues), we were met with a polite but firm reference to our contract.
While we concede that Sport and Health/Onelife is accurate in its adherence to its contract, we would've appreciated a little flexibility. Alas, maintaining customer loyalty doesn't seem to be at the core of their business model. And, as a result, when we return to the area we'll be looking for a new gym.
Thanks for the response from Sport&Health, however, there doesn't seem to be any substantive effort to remedy my concerns. I have reached out to your corporate customer service point of contact repeatedly, as I mentioned in my above comments. Please advise if you are actually going to address my complaint. UPDATE: As a courtesy they are not charging me for the extra month. Although grateful for the courtesy, I'm disappointed at the billing practice and the amount of effort it took to get adequate...
