Should be a takeout restaurant. Food is good but service and ambience can not get any worse. Staff are not rude but could not care less for a customer. We went it where there were only 3 tables with guests for lunch. The staff did not acknowledge us even coming but when they finally did; the staff pointed her finger towards an empty table suggesting us to take a seat. Then the server comes with menus, left it in front of us and just left. While placing the order, I asked the server of the chicken thali that’s shown in their website and was told they never had a thali. I open the menu and they have 3-4 thali listed. I did not bother pointing it out. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 mains. 1 appetizer arrives follow momentarily by all mains and then in the middle of our meal is when the 2nd appetizer arrives. All this food is placed on the table and we thanked the server….went unrecognized every single time. The food was good and we wanted to order more but failed to get the attention of any of the wait staff who were busy talking to each other and then disappeared into the kitchen. Went to the counter and waited for a server to arrive and ordered food. Forgot to mention that when we arrived, we were given 4 bottles of water instead of any glasses. We were never offered water or asked if we wanted water. When the bill arrived, we were charged for 4 bottles of water!! Which restaurant does this???? We wanted to wash our hands and could only locate the women’s restroom. Staff looked at us but did not say anything. When asked for the men’s room, they said that they had plumbing issues with water backing up so we were ok to use the women’s room. No signs on the restroom suggesting the plumbing issue or men ok to use it. The restaurant itself was dark and dingy with low lighting, wet floors and no piece of art of any sorts throughout. Will never go to this...
Read moreI'm not a "write a review" sort of girl. But I had an experience a few days ago that has continued to bother me. Before sharing my experience, I'll say that my family and I have patronized this establishment many times and have always been greeted warmly by the several hosts that we've encountered. The food is delicious and I've had a pleasant experience, thus far. But a few days ago, a friend asked that I meet her for dinner at this restaurant. I arrived at the restaurant, looked around a bit for my friend but couldn't locate her. A host came up to me to greet me, and I asked her if she had seen another black lady walk into the restaurant. The host said she hadn't and handed me a menu. (I'm obviously black as well). Eventually, I found my friend and the same host greeted us both. She recognized my friend, gave her a warm hug and through a smile asked me not to call my friend black because my friend was beautiful. (My friend is a light skinned, in complexion). I was perplexed by her comment but still dined with my friend at the establishment. After a wonderful dinner, and on our way out, the same host hugged my friend, again, and asked me again not to call my friend black ...that my friend was beautiful. I then asked the host to explain what it was she meant by her comment. I specifically asked her if she was trying to say that black wasn't beautiful. She continued to hug my friend and giggle but I think she ultimately realized that her statement was offensive because all of a sudden, she said she was just joking and scurried away. As I stated at the beginning of my review, I've always had a pleasant experience at this restaurant. But after this most recent experience, I am no...
Read moreWould have given negative rating but no such option is available, so going with minimum rating. Save yourself some money and self respect by avoiding this RACIST place. Manager is RACIST and servers are incompetent.
Manager treats you lesser than other tamil customers (Tamil is a south Indian language). We ordered two small items. They made us wait for 50 minutes to get the food. Meanwhile on the table beside us, group of tamil customers who arrived after us ordered food, had it and left. I experienced this scenario twice at this place. Go to this place if you want to experience some Indian style of RACISM.
There is a photo of Rajinikanth near the entrance of this place. I am a fan of him. While ordering food, manager was boasting about tamil language/movies etc. This is UNWANTED. We were already hungry along with a crying infant. Stop this rant you RACIST.
Masala within the masala dosa was stinking. They heated stale food and served us. The chicken chettinad curry was served in a big bowl of gravy with just two small chicken pieces. When questioned about that he arrogantly replied "that's our style".
When asked about the beers available, manager replied "beers are expensive here. are you sure you want to order?". This should explain their attitude.
When my infant was crying, I asked for some warm water. He made me wait for 30 minutes while chatting with tamil customers in tamil language at different tables. As I understand (and can speak a bit) the language, I understood that he was talking stuff like how is our native town in tamilnadu?/how is the climate over there?/how are tamil politics...
