My wife and I took two of our grandkids to this local park in downtown Hickory, NC.
It's located in the heart of downtown near Union Square. Lowes Foods City Park features playground equipment, an interactive water feature, art, education, music, local craftsmanship, park benches, and picnic tables.
It's also right in the uptown area of Hickory and local shops, restaurants and other specialty shops are a short distance away. There is ample 3 hour public (and free) parking right beside the park.

The whole area has rubber ground to cushion feet and falls, great climbing structures, tunnels, drums and keys to play music, a merry-go-round, seesaws, and a splash 💦 pad in the warmer months. It's very hot because there isn't much shade that the park seems nicely done and the kids who I watch playing there seemed to enjoy it.
