We have been regulars at hatch for a long time, but recently we haven’t been happy with the quantity of food that’s being provided for the price.
For $13.00 we received a sandwich with literally two slices of turkey on it. For $46 dollars for 3 sandwiches and 2 orders of sweet potato fries.
Each box of fries has about 8 to 10 fries in it? The sandwiches have gotten smaller and prices continue to rise.
I understand that the price of food has gone up, but to make people pay almost $50 for 3 sandwiches and for each of them to have 2 to 3 slices of paper thin meat on them is unacceptable.
Not to even mention the fact that the thanksgiving sandwich had almost no cranberry on it. Maybe 2 cranberries total?
If that’s what it costs for you guys to turn a profit and pay your staff, you don’t have a business model.
In previous reviews others have complained about similar issues, the quantity of food seems like it’s decreasing while the price of the food continues to go up.
In other reviews you’ve rebutted that your standard protocol is on average 4 and some even maxing out at around 8 ounces per sandwich.
I’ve uploaded an image refuting this claim. I should have taken images of the other two sandwiches as well, all 3 sandwiches had around 3 slices of deli meat max on them.
Even before I opened the sandwiches I noticed they were on the smaller side. Much thinner than they used to be.
We used to be able to justify the price because the quality and quantity was fair. I don’t feel we can justify spending $50 on lunch anymore
I’ve noticed a growing a trend in a lot of establishments downtown where this same pattern is being repeated. The quantity is decreasing, the price is increasing.
This growing trend is going to need to stop if businesses expect to retain their loyal customer base.
I understand how difficult it is to run a small business, I understand the price of things have increased dramatically. Businesses are going to have to acknowledge that increasing costs, while decreasing quantity is not going to keep people around. You can’t have it both ways, people feel taken...
Read moreA-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in town with my girlfriend for a golf event and we were trying to find cool places to eat that we couldn't have back home in Texas. This place was number 1 or number 2 depending on where you looked at the reviews. (Tripadvisor & Yelp) We went on a Monday, they close early that day - 2 pm, didn't get there until about 1:15 and we felt kind of bad. I worked in the service industry for 8 years and was never a fan of the late comers. However, these guys were awesome!!! They treated us great and the food was absolutely FANTASTIC! The flavor was outstanding, the texture, the options just every single thing was great about this experience! Down to the fact that they have local brewery beers. Now normally I wouldn't drink in the afternoon like that, but it was vacation and I always try to have a taste of the micro-brewerys' beers. I had the Birdsong Brewing CO.'s Fake Plastic Trees and it was awesome! Back to the food though, I had the pulled pork grilled cheese and my girlfriend got the pulled pork Reuben and we just gave each other half of the sandwich, since we both wanted to try those sandwiches. She also got the maple Brussels sprouts and I got the mac n' cheese. Seriously I have absolutely no complaints about anything that we had. I mean it was all so, so good and so reasonably priced! EXPAND TO TEXAS! Specifically McKinney, Texas WE NEED YOU GUYS HERE!!!! If you get a chance, get to this place...
Read moreI'm going to be completely honest here. I have done my fair share of traveling over the years and I have always made a point to try local hot spots and lesser known "gems" when visiting a new city. That being said, I live in Hickory, about two blocks from Hatch. I must say that Hatch is basically the ONLY restaurant in this town that is actually doing anything even remotely interesting. This is a small southern town where nothing is, was or ever will happen. Basically, it's Mayberry. Common people doing common things. The sense of adventure when it comes to anything including food is pretty much non-existent here. Hatch is the exception. They stick out like a sore thumb in the best way. The sandwiches here are all great, some better than others of course but all great. The common Hickory redneck would be offended by their "high prices" but the prices aren't really that high at all, you get what you pay for. The portions often result in afternoon naps if that tells you anything. I've never felt ripped off or let down in any way. So if you're tired of the basic blandness of every other place in town, and you detest supporting chain restaurants, give Hatch a try. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. If you do walk away disappointed, chances are you suck,...
