Stanton Optical — Attraction in Hickory

I've noticed my vision dramatically changing after suffering a traumatic brain injury and have been needing new glasses but have a busy schedule. Previously, I had considered driving to Gastonia to America's Best because of specials and same day service but again, busy schedule.

I first noticed online ads for Stanton Optical a few weeks ago and went to their website to see that I could self-schedule an appointment as well as get glasses the same day. It all seemed so easy and this is what I needed.

Roll forward weeks later, today I was off and running errands. I said, today is the day. Paige greeted me upon entry. I was uncertain if it was going to happen because I was a walk-in and there were at least 8 scheduled appointments in front of me. I was determined to get this overdue self-care, medical mission complete. I waited and was checked in quickly by another technician and seen shortly thereafter by another technician, Yang for the revisiting of the health conditions/concerns and the 1st round of exams, you know pressure, the dots, etc. She was super nice and knowledgeable.

The next refraction exams were completed using a hybrid process that included not only the in-person technician but another technician that was removing into the exam room. This was new but efficient.

I went back out front to finish figuring out which glasses I wanted. Paige helped with that process, too. The glasses she didn't like for me, she had no problem giving her honest opinion, which I appreciated.

I wanted a pair of glasses under $300, which was not only achieved but I exceeded, since I bought two pairs + an exam under $360. I wanted to leave with a new pair of glasses, which I am. I will have to wait on the second pair due to materials needed but this was a friggin win.

I spent most time with Yang and Paige. Yang and Paige made my glasses in house.

I went to Stanton Optical for an overdue eye exam and new prescription glasses.Being a new customer, you never know what to expect when you get there… Let me tell you…. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by (Paige), and taken back to start the process of my eye appointment. She brought me back to where I was introduced to (Beth). She was very kind and patient and knowledgeable of the questions I asked. Once I filled out required information, I was then seated in front of some machines and introduced to (Jamie). She was very patient with me and helped me when I needed it during the initial eye tests before seeing the optometrist. She was also very knowledgeable about questions I asked during this initial process. She then took me into a patient exam room, got me set up and made sure I was comfortable before she left the room. The experience I had with the optometrist and the entire eye exam process was very different than what I’m used to. They use telehealth for their services. Very unique experience. Once the eye exam was completed, I then started the process of looking for frames. (Paige) was very helpful! She made this decision quite an an easy experience! She picked out the exact frames that looked good on me, affordable, and I really liked in only the 3rd try of helping me pick out frames! Very very knowledgeable and she listened to my needs. She also assisted me with figuring out the price/cost of everything since I like to do some of the extras. I cannot say enough about the incredible service we received at Stanton Optical in Hickory. We went because our son needed new glasses, and they have amazing hours on both Saturdays and Sundays. You can get everything done there from eye exams to glasses.

From the moment we walked in, Stanton’s team made us feel welcome. My son received a thorough eye exam, and when it came time to choose his glasses, the staff provided individualized guidance that made the process easy and stress-free. When we went back to pick up his glasses, I decided to get a pair of my own. My son got some really nice frames that he is excited to wear. Their selection of beautiful, well priced frames is the largest I have ever seen onsite.

I had the opportunity to work with the store manager, Lynn. Her energy and enthusiasm for her work are extraordinary. Lynn treats you like family and makes you feel like your eye care is her primary concern and it actually is! She is so personable, you will feel like you are the most important customer in the store.

If you can snag Lynn, I highly recommend working with her. I am so excited about getting my new glasses. They will be the best quality and most attractive glasses I have ever purchased.
