Hickory Metro Convention Center & Visitors Bureau — Attraction in Hickory

I attended the C&E gunshow on Saturday with my elderly father and 10 yr old son. Bottom line.. Too crowded and no order. People were rude and pushy. One man in a Trump shirt barged through so forcefully that he phyically shoved my 80 yr old dad out of his way so hard dad fell into a table. They need to have wider ailes and fewer vendors. Weve been coming for years and its just gotten worse and worse. The bathrooms were filthy. We had to park a half mile away because there was no room. I wanted my kid to enjoy his first gun show with me and papaw, expressing our 2nd amendment rights. He was worn out from all the shoving and disorder. The facility cannot control the crowds demeanor but they can make more space and anybody reading this that goes to the gun shows there, please be respectful of others. Speaking from the perspective of both of vendor and an attendee at this venue, I have to say that it is very nice to deal with the climate as well controlled the ceilings are nice and high and they don't feel dizzy. The flow of the building works very well to help move people around from point A to point B. As an attendee there is lots of parking and the venue is very easy to access. As a vendor the load-in and Load-Out is very easy and the convention center staff are very accommodating to our needs. Been to this establishment on numerous occasions. Parking deck and single level parking. Number of events occur here on a daily basis. Everything from gun shows to events like the home and garden show and I've even seen the shrines of North Carolina here with a three day celebration . Plenty of restrooms that are always clean . The staff of the civic center always have their office open for question or for you to just pop in and wave. Very user friendly.
