Mount Rushmore National Memorial George Washington — Attraction in Hill City

Another National Park done ✅ This wasn't on our Bucket List, but glad we did it. Prob one of the most iconic ones, not to mention patriotic, so happy to say we have been there. $10 is the parking fee, as of 2025, and that's good for one year! Parking on a Sun morning wasn't difficult at all. Plenty of space for everyone (and we were there on Bike Week). Def take the time to walk the trail, and stop at all the locations around that to get really good pics. If you're taking fito (pets), be aware they can only walk in certain areas, and can't go past that. So you're not going to be able to take them all the way into the walkway to the memorial. But there is a good little trail to the right of the entrance walkway that has 🐾, follow those to a nice small hike for fito. Nice day all around, learning about this...

I recently visited Mount Rushmore, and it’s definitely a must-see in the Black Hills region! The monument is iconic and the overall experience was memorable.

Just a quick update on the timings—I’ve attached a photo for your reference in case you’re planning your visit. Make sure to check it before heading out.

There’s a nice trail around the monument that gives different viewing angles and a bit of a scenic walk. The gift shop is also worth stopping by—lots of great souvenirs and variety to choose from.

A visit to Mount Rushmore on Independence Day was truly unforgettable. The air was filled with patriotism and celebration from the moment of arrival. Spending the 4th of July here, surrounded by the inspiring beauty of the memorial and fellow Americans, is highly recommended.
