Title: Awe-Inspiring Tribute to American Leadership!
I had the pleasure of visiting Mount Rushmore National Memorial this past weekend, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The sheer size and detail of this masterful sculpture left me in absolute awe from the moment it came into view.
Nestled in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Mount Rushmore is not only a symbol of American history but also an engineering marvel. The colossal carvings of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln are executed with such precision; it's hard to believe they were completed in 1941, long before modern technology could assist.
Upon arrival, the Avenue of Flags welcomes you, creating a patriotic pathway that leads to the Grand View Terrace. The view from here is the perfect vantage point to appreciate the artistry of sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his team. Each president's facial expression is captured with incredible detail; from Washington's resolute gaze to Lincoln's thoughtful appearance, the sculptures resonate with the charisma and strength of these historical figures.
The informational displays and Visitor Center museum offer a rich narrative that compliments the visual experience. Learning about the arduous work and the stories behind each president's selection added depth to my visit. Not to forget the sculptor's studio where you can see the scale models and tools used in the carving process—fascinating for both history buffs and curious minds.
The park is immaculately clean, and the staff are amicable and knowledgeable. Whether you're soaking in the history, capturing incredible photos, or simply enjoying a picnic with the iconic backdrop, Mount Rushmore provides a unique experience that caters to all.
As a bonus, the lighting ceremony at dusk is a must-see. The illumination of the monument against the night sky is a majestic sight and a perfect end to the day. The sense of national pride that washes over the crowd during this moment is palpable.
Mount Rushmore is more than just a tourist attraction; it's a testament to the enduring spirit of America. It's free to enter, with only a small fee for parking. This makes it an affordable excursion for families and individuals alike.
In closing, to say Mount Rushmore is a must-visit location is an understatement. It's a place of inspiration, reflection, and immense national pride. I left feeling humbled and enriched by the experience. Highly recommend this iconic landmark to anyone looking to explore the grandeur of American history etched in stone!

Read moreA trip worth taking. Seeing the busts of four men I couldn't but wonder what they would say about our country today. 2 of the men where committing treason according to the king of England. Couldn't help but walk away with disappointment in the stores forcing people to wear masks even if you were vaccinated and people working there participating in it and the number of people willing going into stores that forced mask wearing. What would the four men say on forcing people to do something against there will? If you think covid is about a virus you are buying into propaganda. The real story about covid is the government response and trying to control us. The revolutionary war was fought for at less. Would George Washington have put on a mask and been forced to get a vaccine against his will? If you read this and don't understand it I feel sorry for you for you have been conditioned by the media and government to think the way you are. It's your choice to think that way. If you were going to destroy America what would you do different than the government is...
Read moreI talked to a few people before I decided on this family trip. I was told it was overrated, it's small, and not cool at all. They couldn't have been more wrong. We stayed at the local KOA. Day1, we dropped our camper off and I wanted to scope out the area. We came around the bend and I was like, okay...there is parking, there is where you go in and I looked up and there she was in all her glory. Listening to the naysayers I was looking for a small monument. It was bigger than I expected and the detail was phenomenal. Due to listening to my not so intelligent friends, we only planned a couple hrs at the park the next day. At the park, expect to pay for parking. There are some deals if you're military. Walk the flags, check out the gift shop, and take the walking trail. WARNING: oxygen required. The walking trail has a ton of stairs in the upward direction. If you are not semi-fit, you will die. I would recommend this experience to everyone. Just go see it and check the box. You'll love...
