Hillsboro Parks and Recreation — Attraction in Hillsboro

Update: new lights added for staying later at night, and the "winter section" has no more sand and replaced with "pea gravel". This should be far nicer (ie: less stinky, no sand in car) for the big dogs that can handle the mayhem of that section. Note that little dog owners should use extreme caution using the winter section (ie: some small dogs can handle it, but a majority are at risk of injury or death.)

The people who run Hondo Dog Park, Hillsboro, OR, are always making improvements. They have fresh water, plastic bags, trash cans, double gates, okay parking. I wish they had chosen 5 ft fences as dogs are trained by owners to jump from one section into another (ie: big dogs can jump into the little dog section). I find more people at this dog park do not follow the simple stated rules so I generally...

I would like to thank the wonderful people. Who came to our shelter at the Salvation Army store in Hillsboro. AND pulled weeds, mowed the lawn, and put down bark dust. And they did not stop there. They brought us hanging pots,regular flower pots, soil and flowers to plant in n them. To make us feel better about our situation we are in. And make the community feel better about having us here. I and another gentlemen here. Got to help plant the flowers in the pots they brought us. It made a big difference around here. So thank you so much. To the Hillsboro park and rec. This park has it all, a fountain for the kids, or the big kids who hide inside adult bodies. There are restrooms on site that are nice and clean, it does help that this park is a stone's throw from one of the Hillsoboro Park maintainence centers. There are basketball courts, tennis courts and fields to play soccor and or lacrosse. There is lots of parking as well, there is overflow parking just south of the park, screened by bushes, keep looking,...
