This is is a recount of an ongoing experience that my husband and I have had over the past 3 days.
Prior to booking any of their properties, I would ask you to read this review in its entirety. This "small business" owns 34 properties in Broken Bow estimated to be worth over $30mil.
Update 6/8/2024: There wasn't a recording. These people are trying to get you to believe that they're all about hospitality and are accommodating. This isn't just a family emergency, my niece died. There isn't a bit of humanity in this company. They reached out to my wife (instead of me) to ask me to take down this review, then responded poorly on this review. It hasn't been 2 days since my niece died and instead of grieving, my wife and I have to spend time on this. Again, is this the type of hospitality you want on your special getaway?
Update 6/6/2024: they agreed to a refund. They also said they recorded the call and that I cussed at them. (Which did not happen). I officially asked for the recording to be sent to me for review as they said they called AirBnB to tell them that. Will update after they send recording.
We had a death in the family and need to cancel for the weekend. This place is unwilling to refund if we cancel. As Airbnb super hosts ourselves, we understand working with people and circumstances. We are appaled by the "Strict" cancellation policy without any consideration for humanity. We booked this Airbnb with them 2 days ago and they are unwilling to refund. If they do this to guests, imagine what they'll do to you if you...
Read moreWe stayed at the spacious Hochahoma cabin - It's a nice location and I loved the layout of the cabin. There are many things to do at the cabin which the kids love. Cornhole, bocce ball, horseshoes, frisbee golf etc.. Huge back deck to play games and hangout. the interior design was thoughtful and beautifully arranged. The beds were quite comfortable and seemed to have some newer mattresses. Downside- It was difficult to contact the property manager. We waited 24 hours after arriving to get a response call about the refrigerator not cooling properly. Property management was abrupt and seemed annoyed with my phone call. I felt as though I was being chastised for my silly concerns. Spoiled meals were a big downer for us. We spent days and money prepping for big special dinners that were left in melting ice chests. Management told us that the refrigerator needed time to adjust after sitting empty for awhile. Seemed a bit vague and dismissive to us as we have been visiting Hochatown for years and never had a problem like this before. The refrigerator never did end up cooling down quite as it should, other than that issue, there were layers of dust in some places and several interior locks were broken. All in all though, it was a perfectly...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had the opportunity to visit Hochatown. I would highly recommend a getaway to the beautiful area outside of Broken Bow, Ok There are so many fun things to do. The Lake is beautiful. They have great food. I would highly recommend Abendigo’s grill and patio, plus many more restaurants and other things to do in the area. The thing that made the trip completely off the charts was staying at Lonesome Dove Lookout. It’s a two bedroom 2 bath cabin that sleeps 6 comfortably. We enjoyed the beautiful wrap around deck. It has a fireplace, Tv, hot tub and a zero gravity swing that is unbelievably comfortable. The cabin has so many awesome amenities I could go on forever. The cabin is a mixture of modern, with the feel of the old west. My wife and I are both fans of the TV series Lonesome Dove. The cabin has the best lonesome dove memorabilia in every room. I’m sure it’s a lot nicer than Captain Call or Augustus ever got to stay in, however, I’m sure if Lori Darling was there with Gus he would have ask for a poke. I know as beautiful and as much fun as Hochatown is I still had trouble wanting to leave Lonesome Dove Lookout. We hope to return soon to Hochatown and for sure will stay at Lonesome...
